Basically as this sort of thing becomes more and more common, a Microsoft-designed and sold box running Windows and quite capable of being used for all media and controlled by motion-detection and voice and other bells and whistles that get the average sort of consumer to pay attention starts looking like a better and better idea from the company's perspective.

Oh it made perfect sense. Some people believe that all gaming consoles will eventually go the way that Microsoft's treading.
To which I say "all things in moderation."
Microsoft could have has their "X1 makes TV and gaming possible" news headline with fifteen minutes in the spot light. Instead, they spent 40 minutes of their hour-long demo on it, giving next to nothing to the gamers.
Where's that pic that says "you can't chase a new audience without leaving your old audience behind" when you need it? I don't think the saying is true, but you have to be equal and fair when communicating to not alienate old fans while bringing in new ones. Spending next to no time on games or using your console as a gaming machine (even if it is implied that E3 will focus on this more) is a bad way to do that.
And G4 wasn't just Cops, that's not fair.
They had Ninja Warrior too!

The thing is, even one of their main games they mentioned, was tied to "TV"... Halo Series.
I'm still being open to what will be shown at E3, but I don't expect much more than a COD demo, some ****ty Kinect exclusive here and there.

I have a hard time arguing with this, but eh. I feel fairly confident in predicting that after E3 we'll be back to our standard split of PS/Xbox fanboys and the "hurr, PC master race" people.

Its JUST a Halo TV series. No one has to watch it, its not mandatory for playing Halo, there's no reason to complain. Its pretty much either watch it or don't. *shrugs*
As far as Kinect exclusives, I assume people mean games that require motion and cannot be played with a controller.
Because I imagine far more games will have Kinect functionality now, which I see as a good thing as Sony would make a good move integrating Move with more games and functions.

It's not like it'll never release on DVD.

Its not even 3 weeks, if people aren't open minded and give up that quickly they are WAY too fickle to ever be happy with the gaming industry.
Lolol! No, indeed....we will be plenty happy on our pcs, our PS4s and Wii U's. Or current gen consoles. Why would you think something like that? Because one brand committed suicide?

Agreed. Which is more a problem with how people think, really. People should understand that neither Sony or Microsoft have been very clear on some subjects, and there's plenty of time to change things around if there really is a colossal backlash, so they need to sit back and wait.
Actually, we think quite fine. I was gonna get nasty, but I will hold back. Microsoft apologist.

Good job.

If Valve really wanted to, they could host a PC release event. They and Blizzard are practically the voices of the PC market anyway.
