Its like people were LOOKING for things to hate, and were then handed a silver platter.
Tbh so many of our "concerns" *cough*fears*cough* were validated, after MONTHS of speaking about how much such policies would dissuade us from supporting such a console.
Concern: Xbox One will be "always online."
Reality: Xbox One cannot be offline for more than 24 hrs.
Concern Confirmed!
Concern: Xbox One will not allow used games.
Reality: Xbox One requires purchase of a "key" to play used, potentially being priced at full MSRP.
Concern Confirmed!
Concern: Xbox One will overemphasize stuff that almost none of us care about to appeal to .. someone.
Reality: Xbox One was developed with heavy emphasis on Kinect and TV use.
Concern Confirmed!
Was I looking for things to hate? Not necessarily. But I did know what policies I would hate. And now many of them are more or less set in stone on the Xbox One. If the PS4 had similar policies I'd hate that too.
So, if the known positives due not appeal to me, and the known negatives will make the gaming experience worse for me, why should I like the console?
