U know that feeling when u just wanna complete something for the sake of finishing it and end up half-assing it by doing so?
I suspect this was the mindset behind this console.

i heard M$ won't even bother launching Xbone on japan this gen
Given the 360's relatively poor performance in Japan, I can understand taking focus of that market.

it seems they just want a cashcow with the xbox 1. They just want it out the door and making them money instead of focusing on a product people want.

I know what you mean, but releasing a console is serious business too regardless of how fast you wanna get it finished. They half-assed the hell out of the console.
This can only happen b/c Microsoft didn't really care about the console. Microsoft would've done well if it hadn's added all the DRM and always online crap, but instead chose to shoot themselves in the foot.
Another reason could be hubris. They thought that people would actually buy a console that doesn't allow you to play used games, lend your games to friends, requires a constant Internet connection, DRM, and spys on you simply b/c of the brand.
It also seemed like Microsoft was trying to go after the non-gamer crowd as well. Much of the reveal was spent on how you can watch TV, sport, use the Kinect as an overpriced remote control, social networking, etc.

I think at this point the folks over at MS have to do SOMETHING to stop the bleeding....the xbox1 will still sell, but it lost alot of existing customers with sony's bombshell in regards to it's policies...

I'm just going to leave this here, because it speaks to just how dumb Microsoft is thinking these days.
How do you get so bad at PR? It's mental. They are even making stuff that would be kind of a good idea sound terrible.

Honestly, it reminds me of how bad Sony was last gen with the "can't afford a 599 console, then just get a second job."

Didn't Phil Harrison work for Sony back then too? Or Phil Spencer? All those execs are the same to me, they are just there talking instead of showing me goddamn games.

Since Don said that, does Microsoft seriously want their sales to drop? Because the sales of the Xbox 360 were as hig as they were because they catered to everyone. Now they are limiting themselves to only those who have a stable internet connection. They are disregarding and insulting the 20% of Americans who do not have internet access, and in the long run probably, 60% of the entire world.

I was talking to some friends today who aren't bias fanboys- owners of both consoles and pc's. And they said that all Microsoft has to is- not restrict used games, not always online (well, it's pretty much always online, needs internet every 24 hours), and a kinect-less model priced at or around 450 bucks.
I think these are reasonable things that microsoft should consider. Microsoft will not go down without a fight, and the raging fan-boysism of the internet is just a wh*re of the moment complex.
It ain't over. Not by a long shot. Microsoft still has exclusive content and still has halo. Their still very, very much alive.
The problem with the X1 for me is the Kinect issue. Unfortunately, it seems highly integrated into the system, so dumping it is probably not possible at this point. Without Kinect, I'm sure Microsoft could price the X1 at or even below the PS4 price with little difficulty. Which really is what they need to do.
What they've done is a lose-lose for them.
The X1 is too expensive to be a blu-ray player and tv controller.
The X1 is too expensive for what you get in the gaming department.
Unfortunately for them, people are going to buy it mostly based on the latter, with the other stuff as just an added bonus. But when that bonus costs $100 more and is at the expense of gameplay, why would you?

Dualshock is way too tiny, I've never grown accustomed to it.

I have one of these (or a similar model). The only "issue" I have is that I can't wake up the PS3 with the Xbox controller center button. I have to use the center button of a PS3 controller but I can use the Xbox controller from that point with no problems. Works like a dream!Degs29 wrote...

Wait...I can use my 360 controller on the PS3??? Awesome.
Are there any issues with this?
You're still limited by the PS3 trigger scheme unless the individual game lets you invert them.

I much prefer the 360's controller to the dual shock, and I used dual shock for years.
If there's one thing X1 will always have on PS4, in my opinion its the controller. Assuming the new controllers feel the same as their predecessors.
