I'm pretty sure this has to be a joke article. I mean "obesity rates"? And suggesting that people relocate? Idk...this doesn't seem real.

Apparently, I looked up a statement saying that Microsoft is suffering the "Third Console Curse", in which a company's third console outing ends up being disastrous. The curse has affected:

Sony (when they released PS3, though they were able to recover)

Nintendo (when they released the N64, which allowed Sony to take the console lead for the first time with PS1)

Atari (when they released the Atari Jaguar, which soon led to their withdrawal from the console market)

and Sega (when they released the Sega Saturn, which soon led to their withdrawal from the console market after the Dreamcast was overshadowed by the PS2)

Quite surreal when you realize it. Just like the Hulk Movie Curse and the Madden Game Cover Curse.

Does Nintendo really count?

I don't think you could say the N64 was disastourous, just the PS1 offered something newer, the CD. Which helped change the tied for the next gen, but having the N64 in that list is a bit of a joke.

I agree, monopoly is a bad thing in almost all form of business. What if PS3 was the only console with the pricetag of 600 dollars out the gate or Xbox one was the only option? Competition for console market is needed to not only bring down the price but also created a more consumer friendly envrionment.

Every now and then I've been thinking that I really enjoyed this gen with my 360 and that I'll stick with the X1, and then I reread all the restrictions and I still can't believe MS was this obtuse.

They're not any better, Colonial Marines is a perfect example of what SEGA is, and no it's not just Gearbox who was responsible for that. Get someone else to replace M$.

Angry Joe scored an interview with Major Nelson, and as you can expect from a youtube personality as opposed to journalist\\PR, he was a little rough but he asked tough questions and called the XB1's policies DRM to his face.
