Microsoft has made it too much of a hassle. For me, it doesn't matter what games they release as exclusives (I couldn't care less about Halo, interested in Destiny, though) if I need to put in my game, activate it via code through a cloud, hoping something doesn't get screwed up on their end, then whenever I want to buy a used game pay a freaking extra fee on top of it all. I also have bad internet connection and don't want to have to rely on it unless a specific game does and I make that choice on that particular game. If you haven't seen Sony's reveal, and are depressed over Microsoft's horrendous new product and reveal, watch the Sony reveal, and realize you as a gamer are not forgotten.

I also wonder how EA feels that Xbox thinks Battlefield is second in priority, if a priority at all, compared to CoD. I personally think Battlefield is primed to overtake CoD soon. Possibly.

I've actually seen some people that don't see those things as drawbacks, though the majority certainly seems to.

yea

they aren't gamers

they don't CARE about playing games. They are interested in watching television and looking at pretty CGI things, while calling others on skype with their voice activated TV remote controls

they don't actually want to play games

I'd be interested in knowing what, or what kind of game exclusives would knock peoples socks off so much they'd overlook the other negatives.

Well, 15 exclusives first year, 8 new IPs, which means 7 from existing franchises.

Those existing franchises would have to be something they already love that shows something impressive, and as for the new ones, a surprise exciting entry like Watch Dogs was.

Either because there's something about the subject(in this case, the X1)that has people angry and vocal or the people that have no problem with it simply aren't speaking up.

I'd say its a mix of both, but mostly the former.

It still came to the PC, just like every Bioware game that started as a Xbox exclusive.

Or you know, the majority do hate what M$ is doing because these are stupid choices to make and have spat in the face of their loyal fanbase?

Mr. House, isn't that exactly what "the former" is?

I don't, I wow'd because immediately before that I was PM'd by someone in this very thread who felt that MS's decisions were mostly the right ones to make, and for good reasons.

Feeling differently from someone else on what they want from their gaming console doesn't make or unmake a gamer, and to believe that is divisive and a little depressing.

If anything we should support everyone and their differing opinions. For example, its not hard for me to believe someone wants the television functionality, music, and all the other stuff MS covered, as well as games. I'm sure those same people are gonna love E3 when MS shows off the games that run on the console.

Perhaps some of them won't. That doesn't mean they are or aren't a gamer;it means they have a different opinion, and that should be embraced.

The only reason I could say I'm more for the X1 than PS4 would be to keep playing the franchises I enjoy playing on the Microsoft side, though if ANYONE actually does feel that way, they should weigh how many of those titles they love are actually multi platform.

I mean, if you really dig one title thats a Microsoft exclusive, the rest of your favorites are multi platform, and you hate what you've heard about the X1, you might as well go PS4. It has a slew of great franchises to enjoy that are exclusive to Sony.

On the other hand, if you find most of your favorite games are Microsoft exclusives, you're very curious to see and hear about the 15 exclusives Microsoft says will release in the first year of the next console cycle, and you're fine with what you've heard about the X1, think about sticking around.

Its all about weighing options and being open. Who knows what'll happen if you choose one over the other.

I would say that if you do like the exclusives MS offers and can overlook the anti-consumer practices that are inside the X1, sure, go with that. But for me it's a deal breaker. I'm 25 years old and I don't care for Halo like I did when I was 15. The only other exclusive they have that I (sort of) enjoy is Fable. But I have Lost Chapters (which, IMO, is the best one) on PC. Fable 3 is also available on PC if I ever wanted to get it.

Forza? I've always liked Gran Turismo more. Halo? Don't care. Gears of War? Could not possibly care any less. Alan Wake? Never played it due to lack of interest. Those are the exclusives that come to mind. Maybe I'm missing some.

So, I don't really have a reason to stay. I stopped paying for XBL Gold because I rarely play online and figured out it was just p2p with no dedicated servers. Being a Silver member is damn near worthless and if you're going to go that route, you might as well not even bother with Xbox.

I sold my PS3 in 2007 and I really regret it today. I could play PS2 games on it. I should have sold my 360 and not even bothered with Xbox anymore because after that I had three of them die on me. My fourth one (the one I use right now) is dying on me. The hard drive, fans, and disc drive, all of those components are starting to fail. I had an original Xbox that had a faulty disc drive.

I take good care of my electronics and I've never had a non-Microsoft console die on me. Ever. So, because of the hardware failures, lack of interest in "dudebro" exclusives, and the X1 (and all the anti-consumer practices that has stuffed into it), I think I'll be bringing my business to Sony. Of course, I'll also continue to use my PC for retro games. I don't have a very powerful PC to play modern games with, but it plays retro games (like KOTOR & Raven Shield) just fine.

Speaking about dedicated servers, the X1 will have dedicated servers for all multiplayer games, which is a great plus. Only thing is, if I were to get that console, I wonder what multiplayer game I'd play that would really benefit from it(as I really only play MW2 as far as CoD goes).

Perhaps Battlefield.

Honestly, I wish all games from all platforms were eventually ported to any platform they weren't already on, as long as it makes sense(MGS4 on Atari WOO lolno).

That way no one has to miss out on anything just because they picked one platform over the other. But thats one of the biggest pipedreams anyone could have considering different tech, like the difference between the similar X1/PS4 to the very different Wii-U.

Maybe they'll talk about it in Halo 5 & 6 or the Halo TV series Image IPB

Come to think of it, if people really hate the X1 now, why should E3 change their minds? Let's assume Microsoft reveals the most amazing exclusives you'll ever see this side of the galaxy. What does that change? The issues people are complaining about will still remain, won't they? Online connectivity, blocking of used games, always-on Kinect, etc. Or are these issues that people can simply ignore provided they receive good games in exchange? And if that's the case, were they even issues to begin with?

No. I think that, more than about the game exclusives, E3 must have Microsoft giving concrete answers to the tough questions. They must explain exactly the process of playing a game with the X1, be it a new or a used game, digital or retail, Kinect-enabled or not. Maybe that's what the "reveal" was all about, side-lining these issues until E3 so Sony doesn't steal the spotlight with its PS4 reveal. Who knows?
