Toys R Us did a facebook advertisement for the Xbox One. It got almost 3000 comments so far. Try and guess which two letters were the most dominant.

I don't see a single person who said yes to the Xbox One.
This is so funny.

Fair point.
I should bring up though that, even though Sony does have a slight advantage in what its service is offering (so far), none of these will compare to what games they have to offer, and what needs they'll satisfy.
I'm getting Xbox One. Why? Because the perceived negatives about it don't affect me. My internet is fast and always stable. I am also more interested in the games XB1 will bring. Titanfall, Dead Space 3, Sunset Overdrive all interest me, and are games I want. The PS4 exclusives I don't particularly care for, so what reason is there to buy it?
I also know the "family" features of the XB1 are something my family can take advantage of. We could use a new Blu Ray player, but on top of that, my father loves renting movies, I love watching HBO Go, brother likes to use YouTube, etc. There's something for all, and the idea of a console that isn't purely about games, that my father can use (he just turned 62 or something yesterday lol), is attractive.
Obviously though, if all you'll do is purely game and don't have as much a quality internet connection, the PS4 would be the choice for you. It's all about which platform appeals to particular consumers.
At the end of the day, that's all it comes down to, IMHO.
Apart from Titanfall, which does look imprssive, The games that X1 has exclusive wise, aren't even close to what I'd consider a reason to get one. Halo 5, Gears, and Dead Space seem rather stale or have become homogenised shooters. (Dead Space was a real shame, as I played Dead Space 1, the next instalments were more TPS)
Run and gun you have the CoD series and for huge battles there is Battlefield. This is what I see as the main problem with AAA games, they're always fighting over the CoD audience, except the CoD audience already has CoD, why would it want something else. Look at Medal of Honour Warfighter, it flopped hard or FUSE both did terribly.
PS4 exclusives that I remain interested in are. The Last of Us, which looks awesome, KillZone 4 (thank God they didn't set it on the previous planet, far too much grey, and the Cold war concept looks good) and Evil Within, which looks genuinely disturbing, made by the creator of Resident Evil 1 and 4, and Watchdogs which is great.
I have no problems with my internet either, but I refuse to pay additional monely for Xlive, simply so I can use a service I already paid for, It's available on PSN the same with youtube. The only benefit I can see with the X1 is interactive TV, which is gimmicky at best as it requirest a TV and cable box to use. It's also unavailable in the EU at release, which is why there seems to be such a huge move vs the X1. The so called benefits aren't enought to outweight the cons IMO, and those benefit aren't even available for anyone outside certain states in the US.
MS effectively sceded control of the EU and UK market to Sony and couldn't even secure it's own US market effectively.

I hate the XB1. I'm actually entirely bummed out by it for various reasons. I do not mind getting a PS4 but I have my many reservations about that as well.
My HUGEST issue with the new console gen is the lack of backward capability. I though I understood that the PS4 *will* have that but my close friend who is in the gaming industry says it does not. T/F?
The reason why I care about backward capability is that I'd like to be able to 1) keep my GT that I've had for a long time while still being able to play and use saves from my 360 games (everything I own from Bioware basically). If I hypothetically get the XB1 will I be able to use my GT on both my old 360 and the XB1 and still access my saves?
I haven't seen any answers to that. I'm very ambivalent about even buying it but I've also heard that the new Dragon Age Inquisition will be new gen (FFS GDI) ...so I feel compelled to buy new gen to play that dammit. UGH.
Anyone have any answers or thoughts?

As far as gamer tags and such go, those will carry over between PS3-PS4/360-X1, so will friend lists, gamerscore/trophies, all that. But not the games.
As far as save transferring, we're ALL waiting for more answers on that.

I think I heard there were talks about looking into being able to transfer saves between the X360 and X1 versions of Minecraft, so there's something. Take it as you will.

If Bioware wants to though, they'll figure out a way to upload your Dragon Age II story variables to Origin, and download them to Dragon Age Inquisition cross-platform.
If it turns out Mojang can be allowed to have players transfer their 360 MC saves to the X1 I don't see such a thing being a problem for BioWare when it comes to DAIII. Sony will likely be doing the same thing, maybe. If not they'll probably just pull an ME: Genesis.

My Xbox 360 has no problem uploading achievements to Origin that can be seen on my player profile, so there shouldn't be many technical obstacles to this.Arcadian Legend wrote...

1) Neither the X1 nor the PS4 will be backwards compatible, different system architecture, Your friend is right. But PS4 will alow streaming PS3 games via Gaki
2) Your GT/ PSN name will transfer along with your achievemnts, but that doesn't mean your saves will.
3) If you keep your old 360 the implication is that the GT will work on both, but the saves won't transfer as they're saved on the HDD not the GT
What we don't know is how they will achieve the save transfer, Cloud/ Gaki maybe? As of yet we don't know.

Something I've never considered before...could the military pass an all out ban due to the integrated kinect? MS will need to prove the camera can't be activated remotely, because it presents a pretty big security issue.

But still I dont really like how some ppl are just using this to support whichever "side" they conscripted themselves into in the idiotic "console war". I've always hated the "console war" myself (still do) and although MS more than deserves the hate they're getting, this is much more then a petty flame war between brand names. Not that I'm saying anyone here is like that but people on other sites are attacking one another just because they have to defend their brand name without looking at the big picture. <_<

Microsoft can't evidently get their arrogance in check. If they are going to give the middle finger to the military, then Microsoft should get ****ed.
Also, for anyone worries about Titanfall, that's also for Xbox 360 and Windows. So, you can be redirected to those other platforms to enjoy the game.

I appreciate that government is finally doing something about it, but they should do more. They should not allow companies to record people whenever it suits, then again I'm betting they probably use these companies to watch people anyways.
