This could actually turn into a MAJOR PR WIN for MS.

Who could've predicted that a month ago?

...

Still much more expensive though. They have yet to change it's price.

Here we go.

From Don Mattrick:

You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world.

Quoting for new page.

Wow.

I think their pre-orders are going to be very vigorous now.

What they basically did was convince me to get an Xbox One when a massive price drop hits

Which is what I was gonna do anyway LOL

Well they did get rid of two issues, but there is still alot of issues that exists. (I'm looking at you HAL) It's nice to see M$ does not have their head fully up their arse but they still refuse to listen to key things. I still refuse to buy the FailBone and the damage has already been done.

Also the high price is still a massive issue, there is no reason for the higher price when PS4 has higher specs.

What if they try to secretly put all this back in with the updates?

Well then..this makes XB1 more palatable for me. I think Mattrick caught a lot of hell for that "we have a product for you it's called the 360" comment he made to the guy asking him at E3 what if someone wants to play offline.

I hope they change more.

Wait, doesn't this mean they're going to have to revisit the digital story later for Europe anyways? I don't see how they are going to be able to keep it like this and not get into a scuffle with courts over seas.

Bingo. I really hope people use their brain and just don't go GIMMI FAILBONE NOW and really think and look at the exsisting issues and also look thatt hey can easily put this stuff back in.

I'm still leaning towards the PS4 but I'm going to wait until both consoles are out and check the reviews, be on the safe side and see if both companies actually follow these policies.

As do I. As long as they keep Kinect 2.0 mandatory, I will never be interested. -_-

All in all, I would say this certainly seems like a big win for consumers, and regardless of what platform you use, it's still a victory for all of us. :)

"An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360."

Thank god, but still not buying, haha. I'll wait till prices drops.

That's more like it, still not exactly trilled with the exclusives they had to offer though, but that's merely preference on my part. Plus the PS4 is still $100 less

They still didn't really remove the internet issue. You still need an internet connection for that one time set up. There's also other issues liek the price tag still existing so I really hope people don't just jump on the bandwagon.

God dammit, there I was, about to walk into this thread all clever like, with an Xbox One-Eighty joke and I've been beaten to the punch! Curse you InteRNEEEE-

Anyway, still not sure I'll get one. The mandatory Kinect is still an issue, as well as the obvious fact of it being £80 more expensive than the PS4. Really I just go for the cheapest available, at least at first. (I'm going to get a Wii U anyway so I don't count it in this)

Well, idgaf but good for you guys out there who do.

But there will never be a console by Microsoft in my house, like ever again.
Sony+Nintendo is where my love is at.

Tell me when the price drops, then I'll consider buying it, even after these changes.

Didn't see this coming. Partial faith in humanity has been restored. People will still complain about kinect and the extra $100 but thats what the internet is for, no?
