An apologist and corporate shill.
Frankly his economic and legal theory is flat out wrong.
"These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray."
Oh, my god. Say it ain't so.

Mass Effect was published by M$. It came to the PC(a year after it came out on the 360) and the PS3. If those games ocme out on the PC later then M$ loses.BrookerT wrote...

What exclusives? Oh you mean the ones that are also on the PC or will be imported to the PC and in the end the only true exclusives they will have is Halo? Where Sony exclusives stay with Sony and they are also better?BrookerT wrote...

The PS4 is still $100 cheaper, has better specs and kinect 2.0 is still mandatory on the XB1.
Ah, but the exclusives and the whole HDMI-Out stuff is a genuine bonus now for some people.
Ya.
Well as of right now, Xbox has games like Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Forza, D4, Below, Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3. Those have no chance of going multiplat as they are published by Microsoft
Sony has Knack and Killzone, better is not objective. Thise exclusives will sell
Alos Killer Instinct? Are oyu kidding me? It's being made by the ugys who didt he Battleship video game. :/
Killer Instinct is becoming massively popular in the fighter community. The game is apparaently brilliant by people who have played it and the studio is made up of both people who worked on battleship and a plethora of fighter game veterans.

I don't blame them.
We just lost two of the best features any of the eighth generation was offering because people couldn't handle change.
lol

Didn't see the news that Steam is considering game sharing?
I did, but so was Microsoft. Apparently plans change.

M$s plan had alot of issues and is a console. So yes that idea was never going to work on a console.TheBlackBaron wrote...

Maybe they too will backtrack.
I don't see why, this would give them a better chance of competing with the consoles. IMO hard copies are the only advantage of having a console over a PC. I think the fact that we are comparing a console to a digital store and library system is sad to begin with.
Anyway the steam thing is highly speculatory. Nothing is confirmed.

Doing nothing but adding an online fee, and they were treated like rock stars!
Still going PS4.

I never use an internet connection with my consoles, so a one-time thing to set it up is still a deal-breaker for me, and the same goes for Kinect. I wouldn't trust them not to just add all of those requirements back in later, as quickly as they can take them out. The fact that their "offline mode" is only available through a downloadable patch means that the X1 is still the same inside.

I'm sure he realizes what his weight is, and his fedora is cool. Most overweight people are aware of their situation.

Eh, its pretty standard fare now: Steam is the one that goes out and innovates and the consoles end up cherry picking from what Valve and Steam has already tried.
Overall, I'd say this is good news today. I would have been curious to see how digital sharing would work and not playing without a disk would be nice but that's not a big deal.
Even still, if I was to get a new console this fall, its likely still going to be a PS4. $100 cheaper and with a better roster of first party developers and a nicer looking box. Or I'll just upgrade my PC. That'll work too.

Gizmodo can stuff it. The consumer has spoken, and Microsoft wisely listened. What some gaming journalist wrote is of no consequence.

Yeah, from now on for a good while I won't be able to call it anything but the Xbox 180.

Yeah, they marketed exclusively as being the anti-xbox one to deflect from that. Makes you wonder how Sony will react to this as, aside from the $100 difference between the two, the PS4 doesn't particularly stand out anymore.ShepnTali wrote...

Isn't that just a famous headline now? It would also still wouldn't make sense to change it to that. I prefered what the rumors said: the Xbox 720, particularly, or the Xbox Durango, or anything else than Xbox (a number less than 360, except 3).

It will most likely come down to what it always does: customer preference. As it should.

Xbox Infinity would've the best name choice

Gizmodo is conflating. I'm not a console gamer. I, too, want discs to go the way of the 8 track. But Xbox One was doing it the wrong way.
They had to be all in. And they didn't. They included a blu-ray drive. They would still sell games on discs. Doing THAT, they had to support the people who wanted to play on, share, and sell their discs.
If they wanted to go digital, they had to go all in. MEANING NO DRIVE.
Uproar? Sure. As big? Not likely, but possible. But THAT would have been driving for the digital age.
What they offered? Not so much. That Gizmodo writer has his head up his posterior.
