Is this real? Tell me it isn't real. I mean, look at all that swearing... I can't imagine a professional representative of Microsoft talking like that to the public... It's not very professional or consumer-friendly to say the least...
- edit: Okay nevermind, I can clearly see now that this was just a parody.

Yep, that's the guy. I love the staggering hypocrisy, "PC gaming is crashing because of piracy" and developers moved to consoles, 6 years later... it's still there. "console gaming is going to collapse because of used games" so expect more PC games... which was left, because of piracy.
Cliffy B is coming apart at the seams. He's not working at the moment though, so he must be trying to get on someone's payroll. If the AAA console industry collapses under the weight of it's own inertia, then so be it.
As usual, new developers will step in to fill the void left by big publishers, smaller publishers will pick over the best IPs of the giants remains, and the industry will march on. The collapse of the massive publishers isn't a bad thing, especially as they have attempted to systematically crush or buy out any other independent developer around. If Publisher's own business models can't survive without inflicting that kind of DRM and removing consumer rights, they don't deserve to live.

It's hard to believe that the traditional gaming setup is what is limiting game design, especially when many developers are not putting much effort to innovate.

That whole post, while amusing, is ridiculous. I find it hysterical because it is full of bs, and the people whining that have their heads so far up their own backsides that of course all they see as real is crap.
Yep - everyone who didn't want their console to have to log-in once every 24 hours are people who have their computers online all the time. They couldn't be people posting from their smartphones, checking in with their laptops at libraries or restaurants (have you been to a public library or coffee shop lately?) People posting on forums or reposting meme pictures = people always online with their game consoles.
Yep. Logic is sure used. Consumers standing up for their rights, SO BURNED. Just like the "20 something in their underware in the basement" crack - so poignant and so painful because it is obviously so true, not a tired insulting cliche.
Cheer that on. Be brave. You are the clear thinkers.

This is PR. Connotation is more important than reality.
