Well, exclusives breed competition, and competition should(in theory) breed excellence.
But like I said earlier, I wish everyone could play everything, just so there'd be less raging and more positivity. But thats if everyone being able to play the same games would cause that, which is no guarantee by the longest of shots.
That's not a benefit, that's just perpetuating the problem. That just leads to more exclusives which means less choice for gamers. Now they're are forced to spend ridiculous money on a console they may not want. If console companies would fight for market share based on their work and their product rather than doing so based on what game developers do it would be better for gamers.
Exclusives means more money for the corporations and less choice for gamers.

About that Halo TV series- does anyone actually know anything about it besides that its a Halo TV series?
Acclaimed director Steven Spielberg is the executive producer. He was going to make it into a film, but slated the project. It is being developed with the help of 343 Industries, and it is not only for the Xbox One.

Ah hyperbole. Gotta love it.
Ah, cutting out half a post to fit your response. Gotta love it.
Go ahead Reezy, explain how games being exclusive could ever benefit gamers. Let's hear it chief.
LPPrince pretty much stated the benefits of the console exclusive, I don't need to repeat it.

Can't say I agree with LP on this one. As a business model, the customer misses out unless they go balls deep with the relevant provider. This breeds monopolies more than competition.

Ah, but we can stop this vicious circle, can't we? After all, we, as the consumers, are the ones who, with our money, buy the games and the consoles. Sure, sometimes it's hard to take a stand when your favourite game is made an exclusive for a console you absolutely dread. It's hard to read reviews on how awesome this game is and how you won't be able to play it unless you have this or that console. And that's the moment you realize what you really can and cannot live with.

Exactly my point. Gamers need to realise that a console having exclusives is not a selling point no matter what the console maker says. It's bad for gamers and they should realise that.

What a hate fest. How can people be so harsh on a product that isn't even out yet?
Have you heard what everyone else has heard? Even if I don't share the hate, I do understand where people are coming from.
But yes, I do suggest people wait and see how things transpire as they voice their concerns.

True. I used to actually have a more pronounced problem with that. Maybe deep down some part of me does but for the most part I've gotten over it. Companies themselves providing the gaming experiences that filll the void gamers think they're missing is not the best solution but I think it works. I've seen it happening as far as Killzone and PlayStation go. PlayStation didn't have a serious FPS when Halo hit the scene on the Xbox. Guerilla stepped up to that plate and made one. I guess I've just gotten used to the games being a major part of console differentiation. I don't have a problem with the software playing that role, in addition to the hardware playing a part as well.slimgrin wrote...

Blocks used games unless you buy the game twice.
Those two things alone aren't enough to make you angry?

In what way? Embracing all those things that PC already does?
I'm no PC gamer, but...yeah I don't get the logic behind that statement.
MUST DO RESEARCH.

I don't even have to click the link to know the guy is a tool and should be fired.
Okay, read the first line and this is the chief technology officer? They really need to let him go.
"Electronic Arts Chief Technology Officer Rajat Taneja says the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will outgun even the most powerful PCs on the market today."
