It's like watching your friend who doesn't know how to play games, except it's in no way funny. You can at least giggle to yourself because you're not explaining anything to your friend. This dude is just retarded. Jeezus.

The Xbox One is gonna spawn more of these guys with how easy it will be for them to upload videos.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Are you actually suggesting that X-One really is the worst thing to happen to gaming?

/just kidding.

So Microsoft will ban you if you curse on their console.

That's nice. If you get frustrated, you will lose access to your 500 dollar console that you have to pay a paywall for. Microsoft can go **** itself. Another knock on this console, for me.

I think they're still upset over having to change their policies for the console

Nope never. All the games so pretty bad so far. The next gen games i'm interested in aren't around until next year or even later than that.

Ooooooh, I get it. They're trying to cull the lets players that curse every two seconds thinking its cool. Those who can't get their point across with normal sentences. Usually its 7 year olds who shouldn't even be playing the games they're uploading.

I'm down for that.

What I'm not down for is if they start banning people for the occasional one. I think they need to let people know what the standard is they're following for this- what is "too much" and whats actually acceptable.

Peer-to-peer calls are unmonitored which is expected, and this is limited to uploads. Hopefully all the little CoD kiddies expecting to put up their "beast" games will now hit a brick wall with their unwanted attitudes.

If this does anything to help the online community, I'm all for it. If not, and that remains to be seen, then I hope they DEFINITELY reconsider this new policy.

It's really a dumb approach to trying to make the gaming community more appealing to the casual/family crowds they're trying to draw in with the "all in one" console. I doubt it has anything to do with actually making MP lobbies less toxic since it's only relevant to uploading videos.

What will Michael do when he tries to rage quit Dead Rising 3 Prince!? WHAT WILL HE DO!? Of all the worst things that could happen, this is the worst possible thing!

Yeah, from what I understand it's just for the videos. Though it does make me wonder that if you randomly cursed on another person's video if you would get banned. If they feel this policy is good, then will they extend it to other things? Are people just better off not playing with mics now?

Yeah LP has a point it all depends on how it is moderated. Nobody wants people getting banned for the occasional swear sometimes you can't help it.

Right, but if you upload a gameplay where you're incessantly calling your opponent a homophobic slur, I hope you DO get banned.

You can upload without voice over, but voice over clearly helps most videos uploaded. This is their way to make sure people aren't abusing that system to spread hate, I imagine.

Roosterteeth doesn't use the capture available directly from the console. They do it their own way, which means this swear limitation won't affect Michael's Rage Quit series, or anyone who records gameplay in such a way.

This limitation only affects those who choose to use the one ON the console itself.

I'm down for them banning abusive 10 year olds in game lobbys that scream down the mic nonstop "I'll f**k your mom." and whatever else. Just don't ban people for having a bit of R-rated banter with their mates.

Youtubers have been cussing over their gameplay videos and I've yet to see them get banned... so...

No offense but I think it is a little naive to expect that they will utilize this responsibly. Microsoft has already shown time and time again that it cannot be trusted with this amount of power. They willingly helped and improved the NSA's spy crap and while this might not be something of that scale, I certainly don't believe they can be trusted with it.

I think it is utter idiocy to ban people for saying curse words, f**k that, if I want to curse while I'm playing games I have every right to do so, I'd prefer the idiot whining little kids over this idiotic and draconian policy.

I'm still getting an X1, but that swearing filter is laughable. No chance they're gonna reprimand everyone who swears, as if this is kindergarten.

Microsoft's hope that the Xbox One will draw in more than just gamers is working.

I can attest to it because I told my mother about Xbox Fitness(as I'd done a few workout sessions on it already) and she wanted to try it out.

She just got through a 10 minute workout session on it and loved it, to the point that she asked me if she could do this every day.

I'd call that a success. Good on them for it.

But I'm more happy that PEGGLE 2 IS NEXT MONDAY

WOOT WOOT
