The only way I'll get an Xbone is when it has ONE app or game or capability that I find remotely exciting. Outlook is not good...

I'd buy a 99€ XBone for Quantum Break.

And that's a stretch considering that I could just wait for the Steam version.

call xbox support. that doesnt sound normal

I've only owned it for less than a week ( well 6 days ), for all I know the stupid ****** piece of **** is supposed to work like that. I've done numerous google searches about Xbox one install times and all the info I seem to come across is from Nov and Dec 2013. There is nothing from 2014 , more specifically nothing that covers the most recent firmware update. I did come across several sites that did suggest that the new firmware update could slow down game installations. These sites suggest disconnecting from the net, Turning off the the Xbox One ( by the main power switch ), turning it back on, make sure I'm still unconnected to the net and then trying to click on install again. My machine tries but then says can't install and the it just gives up.

While I'm ranting about the Xbox One, why is it that I have to re-enter my wireless password everytime I want to re-connect my internet and why do I have manually log on my user ID every time I turn on the console ( and no I do not Kinect connected to my Xbox One, threw that piece of **** in the garbage ).

I'd suggest returning that thing, buying a PS4, inserting the Blu-Ray and playing video games.

Don't remind me...

I'm wondering if this'll go the way of the 360 with unique exclusive games that are not XBLA games going down the drain three years after launch. And surviving on CoD, Halo, and Gears for the rest of its lifespan. I'm not entertaining the notion of buying Xbox One until 2018 at the earliest. Real talk. I'll be able to judge the One's landscape then but 360 left a bad taste in my mouth. Waste of time.

I'm thoroughly embarassed rn because I love Gears of War 1-3.

So do I. Anya and Sam doe

I just don't like Microsoft throwing away opportunities to bring fresh new IPs to the platform for core gamers in favor of just focusing on CoD (not even exclusive), Halo, Gears (all shooters), and XBLA

Project Spark and Quantum Break are a good sign, not only are these new IP's but they are also not FPS's or games with Space Marines. Killer Instinct is supposed to be decent. I don't know much about Crimson Dragon ( or whatever it's called ), I know it hasn't gotten great reviews but it is the closest thing Panzer Dragoon. My point is that there is potential there for new IP's and bringing favourite old franchises to the Xbox One. I think the Microsoft brass realise that they will need more than just CoD, GoW and Halo to keep up with the PS4. And since no sales figures have been released yet I guess that Titanfall isn't the killer IP that Microsoft were hoping it would be.

Kameo: Elements of Power was also a sign though. That didn't go anywhere. Bringing out new IPs at the beginning of a console's life is kind of expected. The real test comes years down the road when you look to see if the Xbox is still running with a variety of exclusive titles, at a good quantity. It's important because hardware doesn't matter anymore. The Xbox and PS4 are virtually the same. So what software are devs bringing that'll make me say, "This is offering enough unique experiences for me to buy over, or in addition to, the competition"?

True. Just because Microsoft are trying new things at the beginning of the Xbox Ones life cycle does not mean that they won't resort to the same old IP's in the future. I guess only time will tell.

I don't see why these "new" and "fancy" plastic boxes are so popular. I already saw my friends PS4 and well I was disappointed with how much it was like PS3. Even the graphics were not that much better. But compared to the jump from P23 to PS3, there was a HUGE difference.

I just ignore Xbox as I have had 3 XB360s and all 3 died from the same exact thing so I will never give the XB1 any attention.

I can understand this. I've only been able to see games like the first two Infamous through videos as I haven't been able to get a PS3 yet but Second Son just looks like a prettier version of those games. That's not necessarily a compliment. Other than the fact that it looks good. Without glaring limitations of older hardware (think Mario on SNES to Mario 64) developers, more mainstream companies anyway, don't seem to be pushing the envelope with games. All the games coming out just seem to be bigger, prettier versions of the games people have already played. Providing the same experiences in the same exact way with not much innovation. As much as I'd like to stay current with the video game landscape it's kind of hard to make the jump when you think about how "next gen" this new generation is. I think we deserve more than graphical leaps every generation, maybe we'll get that. We'll see.

Yeah, PS4 IMHO is just a hyped up PS3 in a new plastic box. I like my PS3 but I am in no rush to buy a PS4 as I my PC crushes PS4/XB1.
