Seriously at this point I"m about to say "Screw this I'm getting a DS" and get my Tensei and Pokemon on. Cause seriously if PS4 says they're doing that anti-used games crap that's *exactly* what I'm gonna do.
They aren't. They said if our expectations on that are a certain way as gamers, that's their expectation. They will also have an optional....repeat....fully optional day one digital store if digital purchases are desired.

Xbox One is the vista of consoles pretty much.
apparently wii U sales skyrocketed today
You know you have screwed up beyond atonement when you convince consumers to buy a Wii-On-U instead of what you are offering.

And its way easier to differientiate the original Xbox and X1 if we call the X1 the X1.
My stepbrother heard me do it and then quickly picked it up.

They still should've called it Xbox Infinite

You mean Xbox Infinity. If it was Xbox Infinite it would've been too soon after Bioshock. lol

Because the concept of the console making two full revolutions just makes it sound like the console is...
back where it started

Yeah, if you don't have an HDTV at this point you may as well go find a cave to live in.
I use my monitor as a knockoff TV. I don't belong in a cave!
*runs off crying bitterly*
Until VERY recently (like, I think, a year ago) I was using my 30" monitor as a secondary tv and still used a standard TV most of the time. And the recent change was that I wanted easy Netflix access so I got a cheap Smart TV - not for the HD part at all (I know bit's heresy, but I couldn't really care less about resolution personally.)
And I still build my own PC's, so I do care about the best for cost hardware. Just that, with computer monitors, HDTV's were not cost-worthy for me.

as opposed to calling the third ineration of the console "one"
seriously? There is no clever namesake here, no depth, no actual reason
Just a bad attempt at sounding edgy.

You know this is something I couldn't really care one ounce about, the name is just a name, what matters is what the console does and how well it does that. I think it is kind of stupid to judge it by its name. I understand the other stuff, but complaining about the name is silly when that is completely irrelevant to the console's function.

Its called the Xbox One because its supposed to be the center of your entertainment, the "one" place you'll have everything.
Least thats what they were thinking.

Agreed. Though it'd be funny if we had the Xbox Alabaster or PSBinocular or some other nonsense as names.

PS4's reveal, which was great (watch it), there were some trailers, but live demos of Watch Dogs, Killzone: Shadow Fall and brief gameplay of Drive Club.
Well, I already new I wanted to play Beyond: Two Souls badly but I think Watch Dogs just sealed the deal for me. Damn that game looks like tons of fun!

Technically, it is relevant to the console's function, at least from a PR standpoint and selling what it will try to do.

So on top of everything else you have to use a hdtv to play? What if one wanted to to play on a HD computer monitor? I've never seen a company vehemently push people away like this. I'll be sad if the new star wars games are xbox exclusives, but i'll definitely be rolling with the ps4 this generation and also buying a ps3 for good measure. Microsoft is too mad with power.
