I don't see how anyone could commit several hundred pounds or dollars to either machine based on all the info we have.

Probably the smartest thing any of us have said in this thread.

Even though nobody here except for a few are truly committed to the PS4 until E3

Some people are just saying they're committed to the PS4 because they refuse to touch the X1. Its the same the other way around.

Its why I appreciate those that are open to either and are awaiting more information, like whatever comes at E3.

I'm more open to the titles being presented. The reason I personally bought a PS3 was because of the God of War series, number 3 specifically. Then I got introduced to Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Flower, etc.

The Xbox itself, never really considered me in terms of exclusives, more just preference in the controller for specific games and just I preferred the interface and some other minor things. Now with this X1, the interface basically looks like an updated version and now the Kinetic is mandatory to have and be on. What if I like moving and pressing the on button? I know it can be seen as a little minor annoyance to some, but so far, the X1 hasn't proven itself to me and the only thing saving it right now are the titles being released for it. I did love the Halo series, but I wouldn't buy an Xbox just to play Halo 5, nor Fable, nor Gears.

I loved the 360 games I played, though I do wish I could've played some games that were only offered on PS3. The Uncharted series, Journey(got the soundtrack at least, one of the best of all time I promise you), MGS4, etc etc

At least if I end up choosing the X1(to follow up on my 360), I know that MGS5:Phantom Pain is multiplat.

Indeed. If it was ever placed on a console that Microsoft had, I'd be glad for all the people that would be newly exposed to that masterpiece.

I didn't even play the bloody thing and I know it was pure gold. I watched a playthrough on youtube and daaamn it was wonderful. So simple, yet so incredible.

I'm leaning more towards PS4 because Microsoft/X1 seems more focused on the other stuff and gaming second. And even if they do have good exclusives it doesn't seem worth it going through all Microsoft's crap IMO

Haven't played it, for obvious reasons. What's so beautiful about it?

As prince stated, it's just so simple, yet so moving. It's about a 2-4 hour experience, but you'll be blown away by the visual details and the score, the score is outstanding, Austin did a wonderful job capturing what the developers were trying to express.

Even if you just listen to the soundtrack, you'll enjoy it (hopefully), haha.

This is why I love having a PS3, but at the same time, I wish everyone was able to experience it, PC/Microsoft, Nintendo, whoever.

Eh, I'm glad they got this stuff out of the way before E3. To me it will always be a gaming console at its core. MS is just trying to acquire a bigger market by adding all these other things. So they showed the "other stuff" early, now gamers can salivate over "our stuff" at E3.

Still, people are understandably disappointed. I would've added more emphasis on gaming, but not too much. If anything I would've come out and said, "We could touch more on gaming here and now, but we're going to save the bulk of that for E3 in 19 days. From here we'll show you some other things we've added to the entertainment system to introduce more people from outside of the gaming circle"

Just to be clear.

If you have a PS3 and haven't played Journey yet, I HIGHLY recommend it, and this is coming from a guy with a 360 and not a PS3.

If you can't play it, purchase the soundtrack. Its cheap as hell on iTunes and other places. The soundtrack alone will make you want to play the game.

Don't have a PS3. Pity because, for instance, Dust has now been released on Steam. In the same fashion, Sony could release Journey.

It's not just the lack of games that's the problem. We all know they'll have games to show at E3. The problem is the machine blocking used games and requiring an internet connection. I used to take my X360 to my dad's house on the weekends. X1? Nope. I still trade games with my cousins. X1? Nope.

As for cable, I already have it and I can access the On-Demand service and DVR my favorite shows using my existing cable box. The games they do show at E3 will likely be games I'm not interested in. But if MS does manage to get some exclusives I'm interested in, I might consider picking up a modded X1 that allows me to play used games and lets me play offline.

I own a PS3, but I've only used it to play MGS4 and games which are otherwise not available on PC. Might give this Journey game a whirl though from the praise it's been getting.

We should get back to Journey, because its a good game.

The soundtrack reminded me of the kind of music my father always has playing at wherever he stays, which as of now is his ashram.

Hah, I should actually get the soundtrack for him so he can play it around the place.
