I'm a big proponent of flash drives for games. I envision game stores being where you can go, purchase a key and download the game onto your flash drive, then take the game home, upload from your flash drive, and use the key to unlock.
Physical store still relevant for those who don't want to do digital purchasing online.

As for costs - think of all those memory cards they used to sell (what a racket!)
You can get 128 gig flash drives for $50-100 now. Sizes keep going up, prices keep coming down.
