Say word! With the enhancements they have made in flash memory, I really don't see why console makers don't transition back to a cartridge format.

Don't want. I like being able to store my CDs in one big case. Cuts down a lot of space.

I do: production cost over durability, and the ease and expectation of replacing discs.

Boo... I look down disdainfully on your logic and good business sense, gaming industry!

I'm sorry that may be the most foolish thing I've ever heard.

I thought the gamecube was the most legendariously durable console of all time. Dropping it from skyscrapers, etc.

I'm a big proponent of flash drives for games.  I envision game stores being where you can go, purchase a key and download the game onto your flash drive, then take the game home, upload from your flash drive, and use the key to unlock.

Physical store still relevant for those who don't want to do digital purchasing online. :)

As for costs - think of all those memory cards they used to sell (what a racket!)

You can get 128 gig flash drives for $50-100 now.  Sizes keep going up, prices keep coming down.

Anyways, if it were an exclusive, would that sway you towards the Xbox? I've been wondering myself if there would be a game, or a combo of games, that would sway me, so it would be interesting to see if other people are swayed.

Fallout exclusivity would tempt me, yes.

Funny it would have the exact opposite effect on me.I would probably throw in the towel, quit gaming and wish for the death of the industry.

If anything, rather than exclude core gamers, I feel they're including more people. Its what we're expecting(a machine that plays games) that also does other stuff, whether its the PS4 with its social capabilities(and whatever else they haven't announced yet) or Microsoft with what we know already.

More like, "A machine that does other stuff, but also plays games."

Or, "a PC with a controller".

"Except nowhere near as flexible"

You forgot " and a lot crappier"

Regarding Fallout: I doubt it very much, but it could be a timed exclusive, similar to how Dead Money's release was handled, or both KotORs being first released on the original Xbox before making their way to PC.

Lol, if it is it'll be an "exclusive" like Skyrim, and simply pop onto the PC and PS4 later.

It had damned well better show up on PC, I am NOT playing it without Oculus Rift.

Unfortunately Bethesda has made a marketing mistake in the past. Not quite as big, but bad enough.
They were doing this their usual sandbox RPG treatment for a pirate game, 'Sea Dogs 2' something I think. Would probably have been an amazing game, from what I could see of what became of it. They butchered what they had, and rushed a remix as 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. The usual terrible movie-licence, but with bits of fantastic production values. Posted Image

It has made MAJOR mistakes in the past.

Battleground and Red Guard, anyone?

Anyone?

Did ANYONE buy those games?

(I did buy Battlespire.  It stank on ice.)

^ How is the cloud suppose to "boost" the Xbox one? And even if it does wouldn't people who get disconnected be screwed over? So far MS has been.... well.

It won't not in any measuarable way, as usual, it's a load of lies and half truths spouted by MS.

^ Very good article summing up the load of rubbish MS has come out with this time. Someone at MS should really just walk into their marketing dept. and say "SHTAP!" before they dig a hole so deep, they can hand an X1 over to Satan personally.

This little gem also made me laugh, and cringe.

When I was at gamestop one time I had to choose between Fallout 3 or Borderlands. I chose borderlands (bad decision), so is fallout any better?

Well, that depends what you're looking for. If you want something more serious, more of what you would expect out of a story driven RPG, Fallout.

Borderlands is supposed to be campy and crude fun with friends. I can see the appeal of both, but the appeal is totally different between each.

Depends on what you're looking for, but they're both quite different.

Developed by Bethesda? Do Not Want.

Now, if they've just decided to make the FO1, 2 and NV storyline the main focus and developed by Black Isle/Obsidian, I'd be a sad panda if that's an ecksbawks exclusive.

Fallout: New Vegas > Borderlands 2 > Fallout 3 > Borderlands 1 tbh.

Black Isle doesn't exist anymore. The company that calls itself Black Isle at present is simply a shadow of its former self.
