What are the odds that Cel is working as a reputation manager right now? Considering his join date, I'd say the odds are +250 that he's a hired poster. -175 that he's a Microsoft fanboy.

I'm assuming Gametrailers/Youtube/whatever will have the stream up later, right? Since I'm working all day.

People that don't heavily browse the web for gaming news are probably the ones that pre-ordered it, if I had to make a guess.

Actually he's been on the forums for a few years. He used to go by Celrath, then left and joined again. That's all.

Just wanted to clear that up.

I saw sales of the 360 all the time.. I got a lot of games for 10 buck on the market place. But look at the profit Gamestop was making, that is ridiculous.

Not Gamestop's fault they started making a profit on 360's used games lol

So it's Microsoft's fault they and the publisher want to make more profit, but not gamestops fault they want to profit.. Thats a bit of a double standard isn't it?

You do know that consumers return games that they don't want anymore Right?

And retailers like GameStop saw an opportunity to make their own profit from it, so it's not GameStop's fault or anyones.

That's how it always been

Since when do people need to pay the car manufacturer when they want to sell their car to their neighbor? No matter what Microsoft says it is just as stupid to pay them when you sell your games. It's worse when MS is forcing that system.

... and eBay/off-market sales fiends.

But you have to remember that loyalists will remain loyal, no matter what. And they need the next box for the newest games.

Is that for real? Who's doing the marketing for the Xbox One? Do they want it to tank?

That's a well done shopjob. Takes a really close look, but even if the focus were in the middle of the slogan, it would still have to be blurrier than that. Just look at the Xbox Logo on the bottom left corner and the picture of the Xbone itself.

If I hadn't been unable to believe they'd shoot themselves this hard in the foot -even as some kind of joke- I wouldn't have bothered to take a closer look either!

After reading a lot of the comments directed at my post it seems there are a lot of things that are rumors that never came out from any official source that most people are taking as fact.. Lots of Hearsay from blogs and stuff. I also see a lot of people comparing Licensing software to buying physical goods. Someone used an example of a car... Which I will work I can work with to try and explain this...

Well you see.. If you buy a car you have every right to sell it to whomever you want without fee Besides taxes and all that..

But you never actually buy software you actually License it... Most software comes with restrictions on what you can do with it.. Even Open Source software comes with restrictions. This seems to be a distinction people aren't getting.. They say I bought a physical disk I Should be able to do what I want. However The data on the disk Is still under licence. Whether that be for use on 1 or 2 Computers or Consoles.

Back to the Car Scenario This is more like leasing a car.. Its your car you can use it however you want for however many year your lease is for, but you a still restricted to the terms of the lease. If you tried to sell that car you would be in big trouble.

As a not I'm Not a fanboy either, I just see this for what it is. People with very little information overacting.. Though I think we will all find out more in a hour.

Ah, yes, but the problem seems to be whether first-sale doctrine still applies regardless of the EULA. Like I wrote here, the European Court of Justice ruled in UsedSoft v Oracle that "the sale of a software product, either through a physical support or download, constituted a transfer of ownership in EU law, thus the first-sale doctrine applies." Granted, there's no such ruling that I'm aware of in the U.S., and the ECJ verdict can be appealed and so forth, but I think there's a bit of a legal grey area. Otherwise, why aren't publishers bringing retailers who allow and benefit from the sale of used games to court?

The EU ruling will be great persuasive precedent for U.S. courts.

Phil Harrison, the genius who was in charge of the PS3 marketing.
