Actually I'd say the Valkyrie deals most of her damage from her weapon, at least the way I play her. With the double debuff from warp and AF and with Warp IV the Hurricane can take down bosses almost as fast as incendiary cheese. I only BE to start off attacking a spawn or on bosses otherwise I'm constantly holding down the trigger.NuclearTech76 wrote...
Fury is better in the hands of a capable player. Unless someone's exploiting the warp/incendiary glitch. They just have more mobility, can get to spawns quicker, and can generate BEs quicker.
The bread and butter of both these characters if you ignore the glitchy cheese is BEs. The Valkyrie can generate slightly more powerful BEs but the Fury can generate them much quicker and get to spawn quicker.

most of the valkyries I see do use the aforementioned "cheese" tactic, sadly I rarely see actual competent valkyries that do not rely on this method
a competent Fury is even rarer, but I myself prefer the Fury for the sheer fun
rack up your powers to 66606
dark channel is a brutal power especially if used smart, you can either leave it on something like a phantom to drag her down while you run off and kill other stuff, or chain it between enemies at range for consective boom
otherwise, AF and throw is just brutal, the speed at which you can spam that death...and its a lot of fun to have to get in close to enemies, especially groups
talon or acolyte for the shields, and you are still singing at 200% ish cooldowns and all the BEs you could ever dream of
and there is phasing through walls of course
I do quite like detonating tech armour to stagger phantoms though

The Hurricane (what I use on my Fury) makes killing much faster. But you often don't need to use it. As tetsu said, you can hit two different enemies in a crowd with BE's in less than 2 seconds, which can wipe out the whole crowd. If you're going after 2 enemies, then a BE plus gunfire will probably do it just as quickly. If you're going after 4 enemies, there are very few (if any) guns that can consistently take out 4 mooks in 2 seconds, and the Reegar isn't one of them - even if you could switch between 4 targets that quickly, the clip is too small.Original Twigman wrote...

With the Fury, you don't even need a weapon to take out a whole crowd of mooks rapidly. Your detonator is on a cooldown that is shorter than the stagger duration you get from each biotic explosion. A Warp-AF biotic explosion is not sufficient to take out many fully shielded mooks, esp. if they have shields instead of barriers, and it's not fast enough to spam in a crowd either. The advantage to the Valkyrie is the awesome armor debuff that Warp gives, which makes killing bosses easier.Original Twigman wrote...

how so? surely the initial warp ball is enough to take out most mooks, followed by that bad boy reegar
A throw + AF isn't enough to take out a fully shielded mook, either.
If the gun the fury has isn't being used, then i'm afraid she is quite slow.
Whats the purpose of spamming BEs in the face of 3-4 enemies? Is it to hit them with another 1-2? or to simply stagger them long enough to be shot?

"relying on a method" is just your value system being baised toward the reegar/warp/incendiary.
Its utilizing the best way to play the fury.
Its like saying its sad to see an infiltrator rely on tactical cloak, or a fury relying on BEs.
Its not "relying" its utilizing

Playing them both similarly (AF + detonator, CQC) something about the Valkyrie just worked for me better than with the Fury.
As for who is actually better, I ain't touchin' that. Ask me in a month when I have a decent amount of reps under my belt for both.

The Fury. I don't even run my Valkyrie the same way.
I just ran my Tech Armor Valykrie for the first time in awhile and it's really going to depend on your playstyle. My Fury is good for running into a group, using throw and killing things with Biotic Explosions but my Asari Valykrie runs into a group and Tech Armor, and then they all stagger and die as Annihilation Field kills them. Against bosses, Fury Dark Channels and then Throws in between fits of using the Hurricane, while the Valykrie will still run right up to bosses and Tech Armor them, throw warp and set off a Biotic Explosion, and then retreat to a safe distance and shoot with a Talon. I did pretty well.
Was able to keep up with Inconsistent Seas, DeadeyeCYclops, and SerBiggs anyway :innocent:

However, in typical BSN fashion we've gotten stuck on one Valkerie build which is arguably not even optimal, and that's Reegar w/ cheese. Piranha actually does it all better, unless you're talking about cheesing a single boss. Range and versatility + epic damage + more than 2 kills per clip > cheese all day.
So let's throw the Reegar aside for a moment. I stomp people who Reegar when I Piranha in the same lobby, even on Platinum. I find that killing a whole mook spawn with one warp and 3-6 piranha shots is optimal and it's actually as fast as the Fury. Beside that, you can deto tech armour whenever you like. So Fury's supposed mook killing superiority is myth when a Valkerie is played well.
Asari: better dodge (sorry, it's true, Fury's is fun but Asari dodge is boss; even its only downside is cancelled by AF shield drain), BE's still as fast as you can throw them effectively, better average power/weapon damage than Fury's. Also, Warp is a boss killer. Tougher, with more responsive movement.
Fury: Throw (not cause her BE's slightly faster speed is very important, but because throw is great for cheap one-cast kills and crowd control). DC, cast and forget (kinda, but generally not highly impressive. Longer range BEs. That's really the main advantage here. And I love the Fury to death. I play her with Indra; full cool down, high damage output, kickass at all ranges. Still a walking bomb as needed, but not as the focus. Because the Valkerie just does it better when you want a real brawler.

Yup.
Durability + Strong Debuffs + Strong melee for one.
Speed + Agility + rapid fire BE's for the other.
I also think the Asari dodge is better, and find the Fury to be a host-dependant kit, anyway.
Also, as someone else said above, when I want to use SMGs and Pistols, I grab the Fury. If I'm in a shotgun blasting mood, the Valkyrie. I'm kinda leaning toward the Valkyrie. I like Durability more than I do speed.
