So I got a new pc yesterday with a Radeon 7870 & when I start up a game, it gets really loud & then switches off. I've never had a gaming pc before & don't have much technical know-how. I can't find any fixes on the web but I'd like to get this sorted without ringing the company. Is this it overclocking & if so how do I stop it?
Graphics card overclocking itself?

It gets loud and switches itself off?
Just return it.
Just return it.

Do you mean the PC deactivates itself ... or do you mean you get very loud fans at startup and then it goes silent?

The card get's loud.... Yeah, return it and get an Nvidia 660 ti or 680. Ha, yeah I think Nvidia's better. so what. deal with it.
But serious, sounds like the fan may be broken or not working right, so just return it, I know newegg and amazon have a decent return service.
