He can't die in DA 2 and I think he's a great character. Part of this is due to the fact I killed Anders and chose him over the moody terrorist Abomination. I wouldn't want him for a Companion but I think it'd be nice if he was one of the characters who'd return.
Maybe as Prince of Starkhaven.
I'd like to see Sebastian return for Dragon Age 3

I would also like to see Sebastian again. He was my favorite character in DA2, and him being Prince of Starkhaven would be cool if it has an impact.

yet Shale appears in Asunder. Pretty certain Sebastian will have a role in DA3. He will only say "Yeah I knew Hawke" or "Hawke? Who is he?" Depending if you played DLC or not.

I'd be more interested in seeing him return in games where Anders was spared. Sebastian started out a little bland for my tastes, but he really became a lot more assertive after Hawke sided with Anders, and it will be interesting to see what Sebastian does with his new-found resolve. Mind you, depending on the protagonist's choices, Sebastian might return as an enemy, but that could be fun, too.

I think making Sebastian the prince of Starkhaven no matter what is one of the easier ret-cons they could get away with.
1) Not all players had Sebastian, so there's already a fair amount of people who would be meeting him for first time in DA3
2) For people who killed Anders, he always goes and becomes Prince. For people who didn't kill Anders, he goes to be Prince for anyone who completed his rivalry path. So for the people who had him in the game, didn't kill anders, and had him at full friendship...
3) There's plenty of good reasons in between games for Sebastian to go back an become Prince despite what he decided in DA2, and
3) The people who would care the most about this issue would be people who romanced Sebastian, whose Hawkes would now all be Princesses as a result, which to me, makes it worth the "retcon."

Sounds pretty significant, even if you don't have the DLC. I'm curious how they work around it. The fate of the Free Marches doesn't just rely on Kirkwall, but Starkhaven. From what I've read, it's the most important city there.

I want to see him drunk in a tavern.
Seriously though, if he comes back he really needs to do SOMETHING instead of always preaching and/or waffling on about his life.

I couldn't get much use out of him. He could be an alright character, bu his best power was that chain power up, and it seemed like you had to make use of it manually. Never figured out the tactics for it. I took Varric just about everywhere instead.

Well, obviously, you'd care given Starkhaven and Kirkwall are going to major parts of the Inquisitor and Templar war.

What I don't understand is how he's a DLC character, and just about every character treats him like crap. Makes him a bit unwanted. Even Aveline gives him crap. You'd think if you paid extra for something, they'd try not to depress you too much.

A broader acknowledgement. Sebastian was a complete TOOL. His character was monotone, his backstory sucked, and he was a god obsessed idiot. I can see why he was DLC.
He bailed on my PC after everything I did for him and then has the audacity to threaten my city. I'd literally have chopped him into pieces and fed him to Maxx ( my mabari ). I only hope we can visit Starkhaven and scorch the earth.

Only if I can kill him. I always pushed him to join the chantry simply because I didn't want any mages to be under his rule.

I don't think the "god obsessed" thing should be held against him. Just about everyone in Thedas is god obsessed. Even the darkspawn, in their own way.
