Geth Engineer headshot build obliterates Collectors like a sir

Today I maxed out my Valkyrie, and I ran it on a few kits. Somewhere in the middle of a HSol run I remembered that Valkyrie has an increased HS multiplyer and that many weeks ago I respecced my Geth Engineer for headshot build that the user ABJerre suggested (originally it was for Arc Pistol though).

So I gave the GE the new shiny Valkyrie X (seriously, my last 5 URs unlocks were the Valkyries and I don't regret it <3), I didn't change the build and went for U/U.

Turned out to be Collectors/Dagger Hazard.

Needless to say, it was hilarious.

This is the build.

The main highlight of it is that you use the Targeting VIs, and you have plenty of them. Stability mod - I think - is a must. I didn't try to replace it for clip mod and take the stability consumable instead (you have a gajillion of it as well), but I don't think that extra ammo in a clip would make a huge difference on the Valkyrie.

I don't remember how you compute the HS damage, but with Valkyrie's 3.0 base, 20% passive, 35% from consumable and 254 damage/shot on Valkyrie X (without adding the ammo bonus - I used AP) you end up with inflicting a f***ton of damage versus Collectors. It's a scientific term, in case you've been wondering. The HM and Overload obviously help.

If you are anything like me and aren't really impressed with the numbers, I'll translate it to a simpler language.

(Gold)

2 bullets for a Collector Trooper
Overload + 2 bullets for a Possessed one (mind that you won't knock down barriered enemies)
Overload + 4 bullets for a Captain, possessed or not.

Without the clip mod you have a 16 bullet clip.

The best thing you can do with Abominations is to Overload them and finish them on the ground/land a HS on possessed ones.

Scions and Praetorians are tougher, but I think you won't feel your DPS against them is terrible. Quite the opposite, the Praetorians went down quite fast when you hit them in their balls.

I think I fell in love with the Valkyrie

I have hated that gun from day one but I just started giving the Geth eng a serious try a few days ago. He really is very good indeed.

I prefer the Crusader over the Valkyrie on this guy but I run a very similar build.

Advisory: Shooting in an enemy in the head will kill them.

Using it on a Ghost or Tsol/TSent would be better though.

I use it on a Demolisher.

Turian stability can bug out off host, I don't play as a Ghost anyway ;) and I like the HM bonuses.

And yes, I use the Crusader as well, but the Valkyrie isn't as heavy.

If this build is meant for headshots, how come you want enemies to lie on the ground and fall behind cover and such when you can have three enemies at once just standing still in front of you?

Just to clarify, all those headshot bonuses from the passive, weapon and equipment do not have any effect on praetorians or scions?

I've been using a similar build on the Cabal. With an Omniblade for melee and the Thermal Scope for extra stability, it's a very versatile weapon, effective at all ranges thanks to the TS. The only thing my build sucks against is the major bosses (Praetorians, Atlases, Banshees, etc.). So this build's never going into Platinum.

Still, it's nice to finally be able to use all that Targeting VI stuff I have, and with her high bonus to Headshots and weapons in general combined with her absurd mobility, she feels more like some sort of assassin. Most mooks on Gold go down in one or two bursts.

Will give this a go if I stop disliking weapon builds.

Turian Soldier has extra headshot abilities. Valkyrie turns into a Suppressor with more punch and more ammo.

Vulnerability VI gear, Targeting VI consumables and headshot bonuses in passives all act as additive damage bonuses when you shoot any enemy in the head/ weakspot (including bosses)

:? I've had the wrong idea for a while.

What about weapons which have headshot bonuses?

The bonuses I mentioned are the only ones that can affect boss headshot damage I'm afraid, using a weapon with a high headshot multiplier (or the Cranial Trauma pistol mod or headshot bonus from Marksman) won't do anything extra to bosses.

Interesting.
My GE has been long time Piranha holder... but I will try Valkyrie with him.
I always used some kind of stabilization helper with it, so there should be minimum change.

I run my GE with a Wraith and headshot dmg in passives. Did a plat solo with him today (which doesn't show up in my challenges, because I hadn't completed the other solos yet, lol). Popping heads with a shotgun is much more satisfying imo. Especially on primes.

I think such a build would work way better with the Valiant instead of the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is just not accurate enough so that both bullets of the burst will be headshots, maybe against the Collectors with their giant heads, but against Cerberus I get 2 headshots per burst only at melee range. Valiant is even lighter...

That`s why hunter mode is there to make it up.
