I just read Christina Norman's blog about enemy defenses. And I got a question, I noticed that enemies had Shields+Health,  Armor +Health, or Barrier +Health in the pictures. And I was just wondering if certain enemies could have  two or more defense bars + a health bar?

For example: Shields+Armor+Health or Barriers+Armor+Health

Or should I not be reading that much into it?:?

I believe so. I think I saw a video where the enemy went from shields, to armor, to health while being fired upon.

I believe that she has said yes. Big enemies have multiple defenses.

Yep, found it.

Go to around 8:30. As the YMIR Mech is being fired upon, you see it go from shields, armor, then health.

It is possible. I think you can only have one of the following: Shields or Barrier.

But it is possible to have Shields, Armor, and Health.

And it goes down in that order (Sheilds/Barrier, then Armor, then Health).

Did anyone ever figure out whether the "floating" biotics work on bad guys who have shields. That is if you pull an enemy will they resist the damage but still float or will they resist damage and the float.

i believe in a blog it said people with armor/barriers/shields will be able to resist biotic and maybe tech powers not sure if its all the time or sometimes or if barriers resist better then armor.

Christina Norman has said that enemies with Shields or Barriers (can't remember which one, maybe both) can resist being thrown by a Charge, and the Sentinel vid talks about wearing down shields and finishing off with a throw, so I'm guessing that some biotics won't work until the defences are down.

They will work, it's just that the shields will absorb most, if not all of it. Biotic powers are at their most effective against unshielded enemies.

Yeah, you have to take down shields/barriers/armor to affect enemies with most biotics.

Warp is good at taking down barriers and armor but not shields. Here are some snips.

http://blog.bioware.com/

As long as the bar is visible, your target is resistant to powers, but all powers deplete his defense bar. Once the defense bar is gone, he is vulnerable to all your powers. Only powerful enemies have a defense bar, weaker enemies are always vulnerable.

Shields: The most common enemy defense is the kinetic barrier, or shield. Shields are effective at blocking most powers....The best way of getting rid of shields is using disruptor ammo, or the engineer’s overload power.

Armor is effective at blocking most powers, but is vulnerable to hard-hitting weapons like sniper rifles and heavy pistols. The best way of breaking through enemy armor is using incendiary ammo, incinerate, or warp.

The best way of getting rid of a defensive barrier is the warp power, but the soldier’s concussive shot is also quite effective.

No one knows for sure IIRC. I hope that at the very least, Pull will work even on shielded enemies. I know Shockwave and Singularity are likely to affect shielded enemies, because it wouldn't make sense if we had to shoot 5 enemies until their shields were down just to use them.

In one of the previews ***SPOILER***  (the mech fight on Omega with "Archangel"). The Rocket Launching Loki Mech (the ones that look like Gorillas) had Shields+Armour+Health. So I hope that answers your question.
