Out of all the matches I have played in the last 2 days; approx 6 or 7 of the games provided credits and XP towards power progression when they reach the score screen at the end of the game (as usual) , but when I leave that lobby the credits and XP never get included. I have now played 3 games in a row with my Salarian Inf and received no credits nor XP for any of those games. Is this a known issue or another new "condition" for the game?

Happens a lot now. I always try to quickly assign at least some points in my power tree before leaving the lobby. If the Host leaves quickly, I do not hit the exit button. Stay and assign some points before exiting. This may not work 100%, but has been helping me.

Known issue.
One thing that tends to help is to check n7hq on another device before leaving the lobby. As long as you have recieved the credits on n7hq, they've been registered and you should be ok. I usually have n7hq in a browser tab on my phone, and just refresh it and check before I leave a lobby.
It can happen that even though the progress has been registered on n7hq, it's lost again when you leave the lobby. Rare, but it does happen. In that case, quit the game and restart.
I think I've only actually lost credits from one single game (out of somewhere around a thousand) since I started taking these precautions.
