So, yet again, my ME3 D1 isn't working. I put it in the console and it brings up the bioware logo with the omni-tool. It then brings up that planet, before the starting screen and just stays there. Doens't freeze, like I can see the sun and its glare and its wavering, but it doesn't change and move on. I take it out and clean it, do everything I need to to clean it, but no go same thing. I try to install it and it gets to about 45%, stops and says Unrecognizable disc, it is probably scratched or dirty please clean. I go through the whole process to make sure my disc 1 is clean, and what a surprise, same problem. All i am asking for is some help or advice. I am under the age of 20 and don't have that much money, so if the only option to save my ME3 disc 1 is to buy another copy, then so be it.

First off, if you suspect that a bug is at fault here, it would help a lot if you specify which system you're on. You mention a console, so it's obviously not PC, but other than that, we don't know.

Secondly, it sounds like your disc has a scratch. It seems from your post that you've checked for this already, but maybe look it over thoroughly again? I admit I'm far from an expert on this field, but it seems the most probable explanation. If you're sure it's got no scratches that could be causing the problem, maybe you should browse through the Answer HQ. I hear some people saying it's not worth it, but if you've got the time, it can't hurt :-)

And another thing - console games still have serial keys, right? Or maybe not? I haven't bought a console game in years. But if they do, you could always just borrow a copy from a friend (if you know anyone with a copy of ME3) and punch in your own serial key. But I admit that's a bit far-fetched... At any rate, I hope you manage to solve it! :-)

@above: I own some PS3 games, and they don't appear to have serial keys, alas. One of the main advantages of consoles is that you can just take the disc, move it around, give to anyone, and still just play it. Ah, back in the day, they didn't even install, you just played it off the disc.

Then again, I could be wrong. Times 'a changing, and I don't really buy console games too often.

Oh sorry, I use an Xbox 360. I went over the disc again and no scratches. But the weird thing was that I just played it a couple of days ago, I put it away and tried to play it this morning. But it wouldn't let me play. It has happened before, but after like 2 weeks of not playing it, it finally worked.

What you could do is find a friend who has a copy of ME3 on Xbox, and then install the 1st disc. Your broken disc 1 should still let you play off an install.

To me this sounds like it could be a problem with your console itself, for what you are describing in your OP is what my console did with several games before it died.

Maybe I could try to get a new Xbox or use a friends game, like what MegaSovereign said? I guess my Xbox is getting a bit old. I could upgrade? Thanks for the help guys.

I don't suppose you have any friends with an Xbox to try your disc on? If so, you could try out the disc at their houses; then you'd have a better idea on whether it was just the console or the just the disc.

Only problems that I've had with disc one is that the EC sometimes plays out differently than what it is supposed to: for example, when I pick 'destroy' it makes the screen green, and all the colors are weird. It's most likely a programming error, not a disc error.

My X360 ME3 game has died with a dirty disc error on both discs. This is a game bug which is being caught at the widest catch block.
