The thing that upsets me about the dumping isn't the lack of hints that it will happen (because there are at least two points during the relationship where he heavily, heavily implies that his being king is doom for your relationship) but the content. It's such a slap in the face for him to be all "Yeah, that whole joining ritual you were forced to do so you can save the world? It makes you worthless to me as a woman, since suddenly having a child to share the burden I despise is all that matters to me now." At least he seems genuinely regretful (his epic sadface during that scene was the only reason I was able to re-romance him).
I think it would be unrealistic for you to be able to name yourself Queen at the Landsmeet if you're not a human noble, but I also think it's iffy that you get to name yourself Queen if you ARE a human noble. Granted, you have the power at that moment, but it seems like someone would politely point out that it doesn't seem to be entirely on the level that you can waltz in, kill the regent, and then take the thrones for your boyfriend and yourself. I mean, not even Bann Loghain Lover objects?
