Is there some other way to increase your N7 Score other than promoting?  I keep seeing PC players with N7 Scores over 1000 that have promoted less than 2 levels (6 or 12 character promotions), which would equate to a N7 score of 180 or 360 (20 points X 9 characters).

What am I missing?

Promoting is the only legitimate way of increasing your N7 level.

On PC, well, I'm sure there are hacks capable of doing that and much more. Might be what you're seeing.

Nothing.

They probably promoted that specific class just 2 times whereas they have promoted some other class (probably infiltrators) a couple dozen times.

If not, they're on PC (People Cheating) after all.

The "blue/white" number shows how much the player promoted THAT class you see in the lobby, not all promotions. If you see a 6 means that class was promoted 6 times, other class could be promoted more.

Also, the levels of the classes also counted into the N7 score. Promotion is +10 point, each level +1 point.

This is probably what caused the OP confusion.

I played a PUG with a pretty good Kroguard who I noted had a N7 Score of 1410 with a "blue/white" number of only 1, which struck me as odd. I looked up his N7 profile and it showed he'd only promoted a total of 6 characters under the N7 Mastery, which would be a score of 180.

More 'People Cheating'?

It's possible he promoted multiple times before the challenge system was implemented and only 6 times since. Also, It's possible he has already completed N7 and is 6 promotions into his second time. (Edit: actually not, since N7 Mastery + 6 promotions should give an N7 rank of at least 2400 not counting levels earned since the 6 promotions.)

So not necessarily cheating.

Maybe not. it is crazy bugged, where if one person leaves, it will sometimes alter someone elses challenge/n7 scores. I once had my challenge points come up as 24000, and my N7 score show up as like, 7000, and my promotions said 8. Which is all incorrect. haha.

Old promotions before the challenge system aren't counted. There was a small fuss about that when they promoters who didn't promote any more noticed it

However, n7 and challenge points can be hacked as can be seen by the number 1 in challenge points on PC

(norrin_radd is not the cheat. Just borrowing his leadership position

2,000,020 challenge points is a lulzy indicator

when you promote a guy you get 10 n7 rating then you get more each time you level up and it stops when everyones at 20 again.

also i think theres some kind of multiplier after each promotion.
so yeah n7 rating just has to do with leveling up your characters and nothing to do with skill.
