Hey people, just completed the game on Insanity as an Infiltrator and I have mixed feelings about that class. It was almost too easy nearing the end as damage specced Infiltrator with Black Widow just oneshots everything...not to mention the absurd amounts of ammo lying around insuring I never had to switch to any backup weapons.

This time I'd like to try something more...intense with lots of powers flying around or tons of action atleast, not just snipin' an' hidin'. I am conflicted though, Engineer, Adept, Vanguard...all of them look cool. But I played VG in ME2 and didn't like it that much - though I suppose the extreme shortage of weapons in that game could've played a part. Is melee even viable on Insanity?

Soldier also looks interesting. So does Sentinel...so basically:

What is your favorite class in ME3 and why? I only play on Insanity as it is the only difficulty that can offer me any sort of challenge (and thus satisfaction) so please keep that in mind. Thanks for reading! :)

I've never played insanity, but my favourite class of all is Adept.  Highly skilled at taking down groups without firing a shot.  Spec Singularity for long term multiple holding, warp and Reave (bonus power) away!  Bombs galore!

Engineer, specced with sentry turrent and both drones, is a one man/woman ARMY!  Will be trying that myself shortly.

Vanguard's Nova blast, done immediately after a Charge Attack, is excellent Crowd Control.

That is a fun build, but decreases in effectiveness as you bump up the difficulty and increase in level (enemies gain more health/shields as you level up). Recommend taking Tali for an extra drone. EDI's decoy is situational at best.

Back on topic, all classes can be fun. And all classes can become ridiculously easy on Insanity. It really depends on what you want.

If you want more power-based gameplay, then the Sentinel or Engineer may be your better bet since they have more diverse power sets. Adept is power-based as well, but is based soley on biotic explosions* and some of its powers tend to overlap.

 * When using only your own native power set, the Adept can only prime and detonate biotic explosions. With squadmates and bonus powers, your combos can become more diverse but for all intents and purposes you are relying on biotic explosions for the bulk of your playstyle.

For some ideas on builds, check out this thread. If you are looking for something more specific, please ask a more specific question.

Hmmm that's hard to say really.

The most fun I have is probably with classes that I place weird restrictions on. Otherwise I think they all get too powerful. And some of them get too repetitive (combo spamming with Throw on Sentinel and Adept).

Pure class, Soldier is my favorite.

The class I'm playing now is a sniper sentinel with no tech armor. I had the same playstyle in ME2. It is the most fun for me.

My favorite is the Engineer, because he has an answer for everything. Overload for shields and barriers, Incinerate for armor, and both powers have built-in crowd control. Then there's Sabotage, which just makes Overload and Incinerate even better.

For me, the Drone and Turret fall into the "fun but not really powerful" category. They're mostly distractions and I would rather do more direct damage with my powers. However, if you prefer a more gun-oriented style of play, then focusing on the pets may be right up your alley.

I prefer to take a defensive power or an ammo power as my bonus. Fortification is the best choice now for defense and AP is my preferred ammo. I don't take powers that break the lore too much, so no biotics on my Engineers. Personal preference, though, since Engineers are a complete packagae and don't need a bonus power to do what they do.

I often use the Mattock as my weapon, and I rarely carry a second weapon on any caster class. The Mattock is light, accurate and decently powerful, a good choice for getting in a few shot while powers are cooling down.

My favorite squadmates for an Engineer are Garrus and James. They have good powers to compliment my own, both have ammo powers if I need them, and they bring good weapon damage.Pretty much everything I'm looking for in squadmates.

I currently play with Engineer, had to get used to this class. I played Soldier and Infiltrator before and
I have to say my favourite class has to be the infiltrator. Just the Cloaking and Sniping F****ng awsome.
