It saves money in the long run, which you want them to save money, if they save a few million it means either less cutbacks or they can add more stuff to the game. So not making an ad for each sex just makes sense in the long run.

I think it's more confusing NOT to show a femshep. I didn't buy Mass Effect for the longest time because I didn't think you could play as a female. I finally bought it at the urging of my friend and was surprised that you could be a woman.
Well to be honest, with today's average gamer having the internet at there disposal, not knowing you could be black white asian hispanic man or woman in ME1 is really your fault, though the orignal blame does lie on Bioware.
If they had done it to begin with, no confusion, and the fact that you have to look up to find the info doesn't make it better, but in the end if you wanna know something about a video game, a 2 sec Google search can answer it for ya.

exactly.
Sheploo's voice acting was horride! and I could never get more then a couiple planets done before getting so sick of it I quite, yet I ran through with Femshep repeatedly.
You would think that if you at least let people know there is a choice that you can make to be man or woman, that it would be easier, besides how much money would it take them to make a 1-2 min web vid showing off femshep? or even taking a few ingame screenshots of her?

There was really nothing that led me to believe that you could be, so I left it at that.
Also in the same vein, if to get information all you need to do is google it, why can't people who see a femshep in a video simply google it and find out that this is an rpg where you customize your character.
Anyways, I get where they are going with the "iconic" shepard in promotional stuff but it would be nice if they could include the teensiest bit of femshep in say, a dev diary about character customization but.. they already made a video like that.

Nope just proved your theory wrong.
I just googled ME2 femshep pics, and all that came up were ME 1 pics so see its not always helpful!

Well i meant it more as a game that is already out, so until the game is out the fault lies on Bioware, once the game is out it still orignally is on them, but a quick look on google should solve the problem.

The actress for femshep actually knows how to apply proper tone and inflection in her dialogue. Default shep is practically monotone and almost sounds like he's reading from a book.
For the best example in quality of their voice acting in ME1, go to the scene where you finally get the Normandy for yourself and are preparing to leave the station... you have to give the crew your speech before taking off.
Listen to male shep say it ... then do it again with femshep (make the same dialogue choices though to keep it fair)... the actress' delivery of the lines sent a shiver down my spine. Was genuinely inspiring - it stirred resolve in me.... I felt nothing of the sort from male sheperd.
I forget the voice actresses' name, but I googled it a few months ago.. she's done a lot of voice work for animated shows, anime and games too.
Quite talented.

Hell the game is less then 2 weeks out, and I dont think its to much to ask that you show us some femshep pics or vid...
Is there anything you're not in fuss about with ME2?
Why would you anticipate an entire video showing femshep when they've got Sheploo as the posterboy for the Mass Effect Series...???

Also it's not a big deal she is still in the game she has not changed much in looks and in 10 days it really won;t matter for most people since she will be everywhere.

I guess I am the weird guy that prefers male Shepherd voice to female Shepherd voice.

Same (about preferring MaleShep).
And I'm positive I saw third-party pics of FemShep taken at CES.
