I have a feeling I'll get devoured and slain by thousands of FemSheps, but I didn't like Hale's voice acting in ME1. Meer's acting varied from time to time (He mostly did amazing with Renegade responses) but I preferred it overall to Hale's performance.
But I support your message in part. I think both did a fine job and it all comes down to what you prefer. I prefer Meer that does not mean I look down on Hale though.

Fem shep has done nothing that deserves a vid because all the testers are playing male characters.
I think all the testers play as the default shepard too

I think that this is obviously because Bioware views men to be superior to women.

I like both of them. They each have their great bits, and some cringe-worthy parts.

And since you brought it up… Hale’s voice is 100x better than Meer’s (ugh).

The canon shepard is male deal with it. Also are you just flaming in every topic if you don't like the game or bioware why the hell are you here?
No, not canon. This has been mentioned more times than subject zero speaks profanity.

I really don't see that it's likely that someone will see this video, go up in arms because they are confused, and say that they will no longer buy this game. However, how many women do you think will skip over this game with the belief that you can only play as a male? Most people are not going to be interested enough to google it.
I am in the group that did not know I could play as female. I have exceptions when it comes to some action games, but in an RPG, I prefer to play as a female since it's my custom character. It just doesn't interest me otherwise. So when I saw everything in Mass Effect commercials and the box art, I just assumed it was a male only game and I let it go. A month later, I was bored and I decided to try it. What do you know, there is a Femshep! I loved it, and simultaneously went out and got every game Bioware ever made after I played Mass Effect.
Really, it doesn't matter for me, but for Bioware, it's a different story. Likely, they are missing out on a large group of females that never realized that Bioware had built the game around them as well. There were a number of ladies already in this thread that had no idea there was a female playable character. When you go to the website and all the videos, all the pictures, all the media is of the same Maleshep, why would you think there was a female option? That, in my opinion, hurts sales more than helps them.

Bioware likes to bully kids and take their lunch money too, Especially the girls, BioWare really does not like girls.octoberfire wrote...
The only way we'll get FemShep is when we finally have our hands on the game. Sad, but true. BioWare won't budge. They can be jerks sometimes.

it's not about being jerks, it's about consistent marketing - you see the guy on the box, in the cinematic trailer, all the official videos? yeah that's default shepard. he happens to be a man, but that doesn't mean you can't customise your shepard in game.

I wish that they would find a male voice actor that didn't suck. Femshep's VA is so much better it's sad.
yeah that's really funny as meer was much better than hale in mass effect.

It's the same thing, really.
It's not like they told you that you wouldn't be able to even have a female Shepard. Just hang in there for a week.

And, yeah, as a male, Hale makes me prefer playing as FemShep because she is much better as a Paragon then Meer is, and I always play Paragon. Whether that applies going the other way, I don't have a leg to stand on

Bioware has noted that there is no canon shepard. Your Shepard is canon, so for me canon Shep is female. However, the marketing Shepard is the guy, and no, that's not going to change.
