So if somebody caps their frame rate in MP, does that effect anything for the other players, or just make the crusader more instinctive to use?

Let's put it this way.

When I host on my netbook, at 10fps, you can avoid a dragoon's melee... by walking sideways... as a destoyer with devastator mode active and no adrenaline mods of any sort.

I need to play on your netbook host more often

Thanks for the, as always, helpful and interesting tests TYHW!

Now it makes sense why the Crusader never seemed as bad to me as it's general reputation on BSN, yay crappy PS3 frame rate!?

There'll be a video posted in a bit of dunvi's netbook host.

In short: No you don't.

^ LOL, right - having fps too low just makes things worse control-wise. And even though ~30fps dumbs down the AI on PC, latency can have a pretty negative effect to that, particularly in the form of rubber-banding off host, but also causing a delay in the time it takes you to actually see an enemy take an action against you (i.e. they've already fired a shot, but you haven't seen them do it yet).

If you cap your fps to solo, then yeah, the AI will be less reactive to you, but your ability to react is also decreased somewhat. It's one reason consoles run at lower fps (aside from hardware restrictions) - because controllers can only react so fast.

Not to mention Maxshine's video completely disproves what Anno said.

Nope, check again.

The gun fires at the crosshair position your crosshair was at previously, the "back date" depends on your frame rate according to maxshine, sirian and tyler's testing.

0.2 second delay at 60fps, means the gun shoots where your crosshair was 0.2 seconds ago once you pull the trigger.

Nothing of what I said was disproven, so just.... sit down.

Ironically, I'm one of the few people besides Sirian and tyhw who knew that the crusader didn't have "aim delay" and that it instead had a back-date on the crosshair, and that the bullet shoots itself at the position your crosshair vacated X ms ago, which by all accounts is exacerbated by higher frame rates. Thus rendering the gun garbage on PC unless you only shoot things which are standing still, take an interminable amout of time to line up shots or abuse stagger powers.

Wouldn't the Crusader without the fire delay be rather overpowered? It would render the Saber and even some of the snipers like the Valiant obsolete. Not to mention innate piercing.

It likely wouldn't have gotten as many buffs as it did without the bug.

The Valiant's main thing is weight. If you want power and don't care about a 2.0 weight then you generally use the Black Widow anyway, which hits harder than the Crusader.

the no hip-fire penalty, extra slug, and faster ROF make up for it, imo

PS. i am assuming you saw the updated info on the Ehammer one-shotting a brute, yes? Image IPB

Either way it probably wouldn't have been buffed to this point if it didn't have the bug.

I saw the post. Had counter arguments. Figured it was as pointless as I think EH is to keep going after 4-5 pages. I'm still going to think it's not worth picking up and you're still going to think it's a good ability =P

you can always PM, but its fine. I think its a done deal with the scion being the only enemy left that EH can't one-shot. so its wtvs
