What else could he have said? African American? That wouldn't be right considering we don't know his Nationality.

I understand that. I think people get too sensitive when someone uses that word, but I get what you mean.

I suppose I could say African but Africans come in a variety of shades, Jacob is quite dark so black fit the subject matter better. Personally I think most people who scream racism don't know a thing about racism. They have just been raised to think any remark that isn't PC and geared towards their ethnicity is racism, in fact alot of people who scream racism seem to purposely take offense to everything to the point that calling someone the PC term African or African American rubs them the wrong way as well. Or as someone else put in this forum, YOU PEOPLE, how is it that we are taking non descriptive terms offensively? Not to mention the name calling double standard. If you say its offensive don't pull the whole, well its alright if the ethnic group in question calls themselves that. No its not.



The bad words have become so desensitized by over use by their own culture I personally think the homosexual community, as a result of their lifestyle, are far more sensitive towards offensive use of the words gay or **** or ****got or whatever other term you can think of. Other groups, not just African Americans, seem to use the words as an excuse to get mad. I also am not a fan of the "America owes you" culture. And people can tell me I don't have a say so because I'm white. I do get a say so as I am an eighth Cherokee. By all accounts that part of my ancestry was here in America LONG before any of the other groups arrived, willing or not. And while slavery was wrong, slavery would have been a better option than, take a long journey to this spec of land nowhere near your home and by the way would you like a small pox blanket. I also lived in China for a couple years, and got called white devil on a daily basis. It was said in a manner that was always meant to be hurtful and offensive, not I'm not saying the other terms are less hurtful but offensive terms carry alot more weight when the area you live in area where you are vastly outnumbered by the group that is doing the name calling. Words spoken against an African American family in a predominantly white neighborhood with no black community would carry far more weight then an African American family living an an African American community that is near communities of various other groups of differing ethnicity calling one community a racist name and that group responding in kind.



Anyways, back to the subject.

since were on the internet with people from who knows where.Black is i think a proper term a lot better then some of the other terms i constantly hear black people refer each other to.Some even use that oh so offensive word to say hey man...but mostly i hear the one that ends with an a instead of an er.But i just Live in L.A. C.A in the united states.

i figure genetic engineering is all that happened.

I live in Missouri, though I don't currently I used to live in Kanas City near black neighborhoods so I know of the phenomanon in which you speak of. Though I gotta say I don't think I have heard a white person call a black person that word in real life, TV and movies yes but real life no. Oh, wait, forgot about some kids don't the street from me, they are as redneck as you can get here. But I have still never heard the word used directly.

Captain Anderson - much like Jacob - is black. Default Shepard, Miranda, and the doctor on the Citadel are white. Black and white do exist in the future. It's just rare.

But it doesn't matter, I understand the guy's question and no need to get offended by it...a lot of people in my community these days cry racist a lot, and most of the time rightfully so, but there are times that its just preposterous.
