I first started back in the 70s - WOR in New York, 10 AM Saturdays IIRC. My mom told me I ought to watch the show; I have no idea how she found out about it. The syndication package started with the Fourth Doctor. I think I came in with The Ark in Space, which would be quite early.
So, yeah, I squeed a bit at the end of the show.

My mom was never a Whovian. My stepfather watched it though, for a while.
Back in the 70's. Yes, Tom Baker.
HE RECOGNIZED HIM AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

I pity the wiki admins that now need to renumber all the references to 9, 10 and 11 to 10, 11 and 12

I started watching when Tom Baker was the doctor. So around 76/77 Yeah, I'm a tad old! I remember catching reruns of the older doctors, but I was huge fan of the fourth doctor. I stopped watching when Peter Davison left and didn't pick the series up again until Paul Mcgann did the telemovies.AlanC9 wrote...
When did you folks join up with the show, anyway?

So I was literally jumping for joy when I saw who the elderly curator was! I half guessed that it might be him, but man, I squeezed like a little girl!

Then in Tennants first season I started watching the old seasons and fell in love with the old doctors as well. I almost fell of my chair when I saw Tom Baker walking in.
