You know, there is one thing in all of the doctor who recent episodes that has bugged me, if only because of how big a fan of the episode I was.

What was up with the creature in the satan pit? Was it really the devil? How'd it end up in the pit to begin with? How did it "know" the doctor?

Mainly, I just want to see it make a comeback, somehow. That, and whatever it was in the episode midnight. I can't help but feel in my mind the two things are connected, but I do not know how at all.

Dat episode came out in 2006!

That is one hell of a trailer.

That's it, before the 23th of November, as a build up for the 50th anniversary, I am going to watch every single episode again.

That a simple trailer can do so much...

Oh man, I want to see John Simm return as The Master. He was absolutely BRILLIANT. In my opinion, he was the best Master so far.

If
Moffat brings back The Master one day (I sure hope he will!) I hope he
will return John Simm. I'm open to the idea of a new actor playing The
Master, but I can't deny that I would love to see more of John Simm as
The Master.

He played it absolutely amazing, the insanity of The Master when he played it was indeed brilliant. However, I doubt that he will be back, as I understand it he is a bit sick of Dr Who and the overly hyped fanbase.

I do not doubt that, given enough time, Moffat will bring The Master back in one form of another.  It wouldn't be the craziest stunt he pulled so far.

From what I head Simm really loved playing the Master and he would never say no if they would ever ask him back to play the Master once again.

But knowing Moffat, I think it is more likely to assume they'll cast a new person to play a new regeneration of The Master. And maybe that's for the best. David Tennant and John Simm had an amazing synergy and I doubt Matt Smith and John Simm have the same synergy. Perhaps there is someone out there who could play a new Master who fits better with Matt Smith's personality. What do you think?

The demonic creature in the satan pit supposedly was indeed "the devil".

The Doctor explained that pretty much every single mythology or religion out there from every single species on every single planet has a concept similar to "the devil" and the Doctor believes this concept is always based on this giant demonic creature, who supposedly existed as long as the universe existed (or longer, if we have to believe the creature itself).

I doubt the demonic creature and the creature from the episode Midnight (series 4) are related, but who knows?

Hoozah, I'm a Whovian!! o/

I started watching the 2005 Doctor Who in 2012 and fell in love with the series. My first Doctor, of course, was Eccleston.

I can't wait for the 50th special and season 8, but I'm also eager to start watching the old Doctor Who, the Confidential episodes, Torchwood, Sarah Jane adventures, as well as reading the books.

Also, has anyone here played Bioshock Infinite and couldn't stop thinking about Doctor Who? Tha game "screamed" Doctor Who in almost every plot point :P

I joked pre-Bioshock Infinite that Elizabeth was the 12th Doctor. :P

She even wears TARDIS blue.

He almost regretted coming back for the last David Tennant season. Not because he didn't like the role anymore but because he didn't want the whole circus around Dr Who coming back on him again.

Matt Smith and Davind Tennant are very different actors so you will always get different interactions between The Doctor and The Master. I have no idea who would be able to play as a good counter to Matt Smith.

There is an unconfired rumour that The Master will appear in the 50th anniversary and that he is played by either John Simm or Benedict Cumberbatch (The guy that plays Sherlock in the new Sherlock Holmes series)

Simm's Master was more interested in hurting the Doctor than actually offing him. Their dynamic was based around this mutual love/hate relationship. The thing is the Eleventh Doctor is much more comfortable with killing than the Tenth was.

So if they were going to bring back the Master and tailor him to Smith's Doctor I imagine there would be a lot less reminiscing about Gallifrey and a lot more murder attempts.

That makes sense ejustinp.

And I think Benedict Cumberbatch would make an amazing Master. He could definitely pull of a good Master that would nicely fit with Matt Smith's 11th Doctor.

Well BioShock Infinite sure did have a Doctor Who feel to it, but aside from the feeling I don't see much in common with Doctor Who.

I mean BioShock Infinite is all about the multiverse and hopping from one universe to another, something that is nearly impossible to do in the Doctor Who lore.

Same here but there won't be no comeback of the thing. It got sucked into a black hole. Mind you if it's supernatural then that wouldn't have killed it and it could find a way back maybe. I think Abaddon in Torchwood was somehow connected to The Beast though.

being British (and giving a hint to my age) I started with Jon Pertwee

Same here: I remember being in tears when Jon Pertwee's Doctor "died", especially when this stupid, unlikeable, curly-haired yobbo replaced him.  Of course the stupid, unlikeable, curly-haired yobbo eventually went on to be my favourite Doctor.

So do you oldtimers still watch Doctor Who right now after the reboot in 2005? :P

Yes
(and I can now watch autons without hiding behind the sofa)

and, of course, Roger Delgado WAS the Master

Also, is it just me or does the Doctor's theme from series 6 sound almost identical to Mass Effect 2's Suicide Mission theme?

I just started watching Series 3. So I have a long way to go to catch up to current events. Right now I'm at the stage where I'm missing Rose terribly :(

John Hurt is already going to be the Valeyard, or at least the Doctor that leads up to the Valeyard, or that's what I think.

It's still pretty unclear what role John Hurt is exactly going to play.

Whatever role John Hurt will play, I hope it is awesome! I think it is good to have a more elderly Doctor, since I love when the Doctor is portayed as an old man. I'm just afraid, considering Hurt's age, that it would be too tough for him.

Well, it was announced today what I've known for quite some time- Matt Smith is leaving his role as The Doctor this year.

He'll star with David Tennant for the 50th anniversary special, and will leave the show after The Doctor regenerates in the Christmas Special.

Who his replacement will be, we don't know.

All I have to say to that- finally.

And now that trailer I posted earlier is even more powerful.
