My only real thought after the revelation about Missy was;
Spoiler
with their species almost extinct, theyve got work to do tbh.

Well, in the universe-proper, there's still a couple billion Time Lords out on Gallifrey... wherever it is?
I enjoyed this episode.
The focus was on the characters.
The strange relationship between The Doctor and Missy, along with Clara Oswald and her dilemma.
This was a good character development two parter that dealt with themes of death, regret and despair.
I'm not so sure what to make of the up coming Christmas special.
I haven't been enthralled by Christmas specials in general. However I do appreciate another slice of Doctor Who and a slice of Christmas. The combination is nice.
I'm not a fan of Christmas episodes to be honest, most of them are too heavy handed with the Christmas PSA and everything is solved with the power of love....
GODAMMIN TKAVATAR! DONT DO THIS TO ME! CHANGE THAT PICTURE NOW!

Okay dokie
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! D:
I'd say Christmas episodes are hit or miss but...
The only good one was A Christmas Carol, and I guess Time of the Doctor. I did enjoy that one.
Runaway Bride, and Christmas Invasion were just bland.
The Snowman one was just boring, had to introduce seasonal arcs and such. Barely worth remembering (As you can tell)
Then we get to Voyage of the Damned and
End of Time...Just...Just awful.
Well **** that was dark.
They have been doing that a lot lately.
Really liked last weeks episode, but didn't enjoy this weeks that much ![]()
Also, regarding Clara and that episode with the time traveller marooned at the end of time...
Well
Anyway,
Why is Disney going Dark and creepy?
First Ultron as a twisted Pinocchio now The Master as a twisted Mary Poppins.
Well at least The Little Mermaid is untouched... [Reads up about the Siren legend, and remembers that Dr Who episode] ![]()
Well Micky Mouse would not hurt a soul. [Watches South Park] ![]()
Childhood ruined! ![]()
Childhood is for children.
That's why they have them.
You are an adult. Thus have no childhood to have ruined.

Well. Nothing can ruin the Lion King for me!
[Watches a wildlife show narrated by David Attenborough]
Oh come on! Even real life is determined to ruin my childhood!
Okay joking aside. I loved evil Mary Poppins.
The only thing missing was a creepified version of a Mary Poppins tune. ![]()

Everythings gotta eat somehow.
You know how Ultron had a creepy version of "No Strings"
Well here is something...
Anyone else adoring this version of the Master? Totally bananas
Yeah, I far more prefer this version of the Master.
Having Missy come across as a Psycho Mary Poppins, who switches between serious and whimsical, menacing and sarcastic, is a lot better than simply having her act completely axe crazy like John Simm's Master was.
Not to say that John Simm wasn't a fantastic Master, but I far more preferred him in "The Sound of Drums" when he was still in Harold Saxon mode and you could see the Master's cunning, ruthlessness and ability to out-think the Doctor at every turn in action. "The Last of the Time Lords" and "The End of Time" seemed to eschew that part of his character, for him to instead act more freaking insane at any given moment.
There are certainly shades of the John Simm Master in her performance, but Missy seems to be more like the Anthony AInley Master, in that she's a lot more in control of herself and restrained, at least until she's in a position where she's free to have some fun being completely, unashamedly evil.
And much like the Delgado Master, you never stop seeing the gears stop spinning in her head about how she's going to get one-up on the Doctor or brutally murder someone, so watching her in action is (at least in my opinon) far more terrifying.
Y'know, I just figured out what it was that bugged me about Series 8 the most...

The sudden direct extreme romantic overtones towards the doctor are the only part which really bothered me.

From Missy?
Nah, it fits with the Master's character that we've seen since the very beginning. Let's be honest, you don't go from childhood best friends to mortal enemies with someone, then spend countless centuries trying to take over the universe just to get their attention, without being just a tiny bit in love with them in some way?
After all, this is the same character who once said, "A universe without the Doctor scarely bears thinking about..."
I hadn't considered that. Actually, it's worse since;
Spoiler
And I just realised... damn, I called this happening last week! ![]()
It wasn't the kiss that bothered me so much.
It was the fact the kiss wasn't mutually consensual.
The dynamics between the characters are off. Individually they're okay, together, not so much. I really like the new doctor, but they got the companions wrong, wrong for who he is and what he's trying to convey ie, the 'am I a good man?' - every time I hear it I keep thinking, the companions he has currently can't answer that, they're too caught up in their own dramas to be a good foil for him.Y'know, I just figured out what it was that bugged me about Series 8 the most...
