 I remember bioware coming out to say that the book would be fixed after everyone pointed out how awful it was. Was that simply forgotten about after the other things that happened? I would really like to be able to know what was supposed to happen in that book since i read the other 3.

Forgotten about, exactly the fate that it deserved. Still, I'll admit that it was definitely a good comedy novel though.

they specifically said they would listen to us in the making of the EC.....and yes we are still speculating about the breath scene when so many just asked for a reunion scene......yep, lovely

Ending problems aside, i would think it would take less effort to just fix the book. I mean there were a ton of problems with it that were essential to it's internal story. Did bioware give the new writer an outline for what needed to happen in that book or did this guy just make up an entire story? 

Like when he gets the stuff from the batarian home world auction house and other plot essentials that don't fit the canon of the mass effect universe. Seriously, I just want to see a conclusion to the books. I don't care if kai lang still eats cereal, I just want a fixed version for both the purpose of knowing what happens within a real mass effect book and simply because bioware specifically said there would be fixes. It's been over a year and I still have this dumb book that I paid for. 

I just want to know if there are newer prints, and if those prints have the fixes. Does anyone know for sure if there is a yes or no to this?

Given the massive amount of issues and errors with the book, I'd say it nearly demands a full rewrite in order to be even close to the quality of the others (and the first three weren't even perfect, either). If the author already had things going on, trying to find the time to fit in that full rewrite while coordinating with writers from Bioware and making sure edits are done...well, I'm not surprised it still hasn't been updated yet.

It's kinda stupid too, since Amazon's Kindle store has a 4-pack that contains all four novels, and that pack is absolutely worthless since it includes Deception's original incarnation.

The first 3 were written by the origional lead writer, who made up all the in game lore. I read those books and I take most of my canon lore from them.

Are there there still plans to fix the book? I guess it is not a financially good choice to do now, since it is long past the release of the book. But it still bothers me that they said they were working on it for future editions. I would like an update on what is going with that. Just a yes or no on if they are still planning to release a revised edition would be appreciated.

in regards to the EC, many said they wanted more differences and closure, which the EC gave us. Sure we have the Catalyst, Destroy, Control, and Synthesis, but we now have closure and some differences (note, I'm not saying the differences are huge, but they are more than just the color explosion) via the slideshow. People also wanted the Relays not destroyed, which the EC changed. So yes, they did listen, just not to everyone. After all, they can't please everyone. Don't get me wrong, it would have been great if they listened to those who wanted the usual happy reunion ending that most trilogies have, but they didn't. I'm just glad they listened at all and fixed what they fixed.



as for Deception, I would expect the rewrite for a long time, if at all. Because I wouldn't be surprised if it is a more expensive fix than EC, plus the novels probably don't get bought as much as the main trilogy.

Slides with no context is not closure. What happens to Liara, Garrus ect? What happens to the turians and batarians? Why is Miranda and Jack not have lsides in destroy ending except if you romanced them. What about the fate of the other races ect. The only thing the EC did was make each ending diffrent, but closure? Please.

Deception was a cheap and rushed tie-in cash grab as is typical for game novels. You really think they'd want to spend more resources on something that probably not even half of the fanbase bothered to read?

It isn't getting a rewrite and Bioware's apology for it renders it non-canon without one, IMO.

We see Krogans rebuilding Tuchanka = closure

We see Geth and/or Quarians together in harmony or alone (quarians without geth or vice versa) on Rannoch in peace = closure

We see what the surviving main cast are doing after the game = closure

We see either the citadel fixed or left in rubble = closure

The list goes on. The slides were just a quick way to show closure.

The sad thing is we can pretend it does not happen, but it does happen as certain events are sadly mentioned in the game. It's like Paragon Lost.

Play NV or DAO. They both used a slide show to give closure and went in-depth on everything that happen, ME3 does not and leaves many things unanswered.

-What is the fate of the turians
-What is the fate of the batarians
-What is the fate of the volus, vorcha, elcor and hanar
-What does Liara,Garrus, Tali, Joker, James,EDI(non destroy) Chakwas, Adams, Ken and Gabby do after the war
-What is the state of the asari goverment
-What about the rachni if you let them live
-Shepard in rubble, what happens after the breath?

All unexplained. Just because the korgan, geth/quarian, Citadel stuff and ME2 squadmates(except in destroy as Jack and Miranda have bug slides) get semi closure is moot when all I mentinoed above is left unexplained and don't tell me Bioware could not do it or it would be too much. DAO and NV did it fine.

Ok endings aside, I am annoyed they never followed up with a fix to deception. I'm more annoyed that they said they would do it and they didn't, rather than not fixing it.
