I'm sure many folks will love it. I'm pretty sure I will. But consider this hypothetical: what if the game is a big disappointment to you? I'm not asking, "What if the game flops with everyone?" I'm asking about you. What if *you* just don't like it? What do you plan to do? Negative reviews? Keep the game vs. return/sell the game? Hold onto the game and wait for dlc? Write to Bioware? Write to EA?

Also, what would completely ruin the game for you?

I suppose if I really didn't like the game, I'd return it. Then I'd post my review (I write them regardless of good or bad experiences...). If the content was bad enough, I might address the company, but that would depend on what aspect of the game needs improvement.

Then it's awful and I get something new to complain about on BSN.

Then it is awful. I'd say "Oh well" and move on to the next game. Maybe I'll trade it in, maybe I won't. Maybe I'll give it to my cousin as a present.

If I think its really awful I'd probably just join some discussions on the BSN with other people who didn't like it until I felt less annoyed and then move on with my life. I don't ever bother returning or selling games so I'd just leave it.

The big thing that could ruin the game for me is the ending. I really hate endings that don't make sense to me or do not fit with the rest of the story/game. I also don't like sad endings. So endings that are depressing, make little sense, don't fit the rest of the book/movie/game really don't sit well with me and always completely ruin the entire thing.

The only other thing that would ruin it is if I don't like a single character, and considering every Bioware game has had at least a handful of characters I really like I don't see that happening.

I can excuse practically anything else in a game as long as the characters and ending are good, so there's nothing else that would completely ruin the game for me.

I seriously doubt I will find the game absolutely awful or be disappointed by it though. I was disappointed by Dragon Age 2 but still found it fairly average, and am going into the next game with lowered expectations, so It would take a complete disaster for me to deem it 'awful'.

I doubt it will be as awful as DA2 because they've already had more time to work on it. But the mass populace seem to have very short term memories and they can't remember anything in the past when there is something new annoying them or something that they think is annoying them.

The only things that make Dragon Age games feel weird is the lack of the little things. The dev team doesn't do a lot of little things for their games, like with artwork, and artwork on posters around the city that make us zoom in and admire the view and hardwork that the devs have done. The little things in a game puts the icing on the cake and I'm afraid there will be as many little things in the third instalment as the first two, which is not enough.

They'd have to screw up big time for me to be disappointed. But if it did happen, I would just drop Dragon Age and move on.

What would ruin the game for me? Bad writing. I can live with bad cinematics (Frankenmom cough cough), poor graphics, bland music and other questionable decisions; I play Bioware games for the story and the characters. I'm not going to enjoy myself if the story is so cheesy it doesn't take itself seriously (Citadel cough cough) or the characters are as deep as a puddle.

If I dislike the game I will just simply get my money back and move on, I'm not going to rant and rave over someone else s hard work, the creators of the game put alot of effort time and energy in the games they make, they know that they can't please everyone at the end of the day all that matters is if the sales are good, and if the creators themselves are happy with what they accomplished.

If it's awful, it's awful.

I wouldn't let it ruin anything for me though, i'm interested to see where the series goes.

If I see an animation where a two hander is striking an overhead blow and his feet come up off the ground that will be enough for me to keep my money in my pocket. If there are lighted arcs from the tip of a sword, likewise.

If the fights are filled with flashing lights when magic is not involved, or over the top gore, I will conclude that the game is not for me, and look elsewhere for my rpg fix. Having been burned so badly on the purchase of DA2 you can bet that I will check out this new game thoroughly before spending a penny.

You know what.

I actually enjoyed all of the following games

DAO, DA2
ME 1, ME 2, ME 3.

I am so easy to impress that Bioware would have to try very hard for me not to be impressed.
It's not out of feckless stupidity that I enjoy these games.

You see, I'm always looking at the elements that I enjoy.
I focus more on what I like about a game rather than what I don't like.

Heck even in Aliens Colonial Marines (a game I found really boring), I found some things to like.
The environments, atmosphere, the stealth section and co-operative game play.

So few games offer co-op. So that was something that I focused on more.

You see, I like to think of the things that I like about games over things I don't like.

But, to answer your question. If Dragon Age 3 was so bad that I couldn't think of anything to like (doubtfull), I would think about all the good times I had playing Dragon Age 1 & 2. :wizard:

Good times!:)

Well they have confirmed no more rehashed areas. I would be disappointed if mages attack like they did in Origins. I will also be disappointed if Bioware didn't have the guts to cameo living Wardens and Hawke.

If it's bad I might try and finish TW2 and start to worry about ME4 and the new IP
To ruin the game then it would have to have an awful story with poor characters, be just plain boring or completely unplayable.

Or they could do an Avengers style game for Dragon Age 4, comining the protagonists of DA 1, 2 and 3, with a new protagonist.

The 4 protagonists will have help with new companions and a Nick Fury esque guy shouting at them.:P

No! Just kidding! DON'T DO THAT! THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE!

No! No Avengers for Dragon Age!

No. That wasn't a serious suggestion! Don't do it!

Look, DA3 is not going to be awful. I'd say there's nil chance of that happening.
Not even DA2 was awful. Objectively, and judged on it's own, DA2 was a competent game for those who like such games. The main problem with DA2 was that it was a game that many of us did not want- Plus that it replaced DA:O2, a game that we did want.

DA3 is both in a better and worse situation.

Better, because this time there are no high expectations that it will be a DA:O3. We already know that it will not be. The developers have stated it will have dialogue wheel, voiced protagonist, 'iconic' npcs. So all that remains for vitriolic DA2 critics, is to see if the new versions of this are more acceptable. DA3 will get a chance to be judged sort of for itself.
I'm also pretty certain that regardless if it's the kind of game we want or not, it will be a good game objectively. A great game for those who want such a game. The team that works on the game is a guarantee for that.

Worse, because there is the stigma from DA2. The market has turned its back and there will be a great skepticism. Possibly also quite many who maybe want it to fail. It's hard to sell a sequel to a failure, regardless of its qualities. The thing all of us can do, is to give it a fair chance, and not immediately look for faults. Check out if it's enjoyable to play first. Regardless of what you may see as flaws.

Same here.  I've found quite a few  FPS games near-unplayable for me in the past due to motion sickness issues, so I don't buy them any more.  Most 3rd-person games don't have that effect and where there's a choice like with Skyrim I'll always opt for 3rd.

It's also very unlikely I'll buy the game if it's not available as a pc game.

It's actually kinda hard to imagine Bioware screwing up so badly that they'd really turn me off from their games. Just cuz the stuff I hate seems exceedingly unBioware. Going in a Fable-esque direction would be bad. Cutting down on companions would be bad. Taking away dialogue choices would be bad. Taking away the cinematics would make me sad. Taking away level ups would suck. And only one ending would also suck. Like DA2.

But yeah. Unlikely. I hope.

Well there are a few things that could make it a bad game.  However, if it is a bad game then I wouldn't do as much.  I just keep it and be like alright.  I'll just hang on to it and play it when am in a certain mood.  I don't like to return or trade in games.  Simple as that to me.

What in my opinion could ruin it is the multiplayer aspect.  I made it no serect I hate multiplayer.  My friends list on the PS3 (console I'll be playing this on) is zero.  I don't see that big of a need to play with a community.  However, it does seem like BioWare is going to put in a lot more effort in this game then their previous DA game.  And more then likely I'll still get it regardless other people may say.

Just the way it is.
