3. If they went back to silent PC. This is not going to happen though.

Lol, I liked the silent PC. I read the dialogue in my head, in my own voice. Very immersive for me. :-)

What I love about reading it in my own tone is that some lines can be said in many different tones and all the tones fit the story but can change the conversational dynamic making for a richer variety of roleplaying experiences and make that illusion of choice and the immersive experience far richer to the 3 tone solution offerred by a voiced protagonist.  I would love to go back to the unvoiced protagonist.

See, you completely read my mind.

Adding to all of this, I believe its probably only the fact that the vast majority of the Warden's lines are unspoken that allows him/her to have so many different voice sets. We have suave/sultry, mystical/smart, violent, cocky, experienced and wise, each helping bring out what you want that character to be. Then we have Dragon Age 2. I think the reason Bioware only did three sets and only hired one actor for them per gender is probably because they had to do so many more spoken lines.

In complete agreement.

What would ruin the game 4 me is if the opening titles was a thedas revamp of Mel Brooks' "Inquisition" from history of the world part1

Doesn't bother me. I was born human and didn't have a choice in that. I like RPGs to offer me choices that I could actually make.

That was very immersion breaking for me in DAO. It sort of worked for me in Baldur's Gate because the NPC's were mostly silent too but it was ruined in DAO when they all spoke. Every reply I chose had a predetermined tone - trying to imagine whatever tone I wanted just made the NPC's seem like a bunch of crazy, unstable people who couldn't decide how they should behave.

So I'm very pro voiced protagonist in a game where everyone else has a voice. Not to mention that it felt amazing to see my protagonist show and voice anger when I wanted him/her to.

multiplayer meaningfully impacting the SP campaign. DA2 style 'awesome button' and lack of agency.

Eh. I'm wary of any RPG trying too hard to be like real life. Yuck.

Fixed character first name.

I'm sure there are others but that's all I've got near the realm of plausibility.

Hmm I suppose that's the reason that a lot of people hated DAII, for me, it doesn't matter haha I always hated Elves so eh Dwarves and Humans for the win :P

Just like a fixed character species, I don't mind fixed first names either. It didn't bother me in The Witcher, for instance. I even stuck to the default names for some of my Dragon Age characters.

What matters most to me is being able to customize my character's personality to some extent. I really disliked the lack of roleplaying in Mass Effect 3 because Shepard was no longer my Shepard. He was sad when I wanted him to be angry, angry when I wanted him to laugh, and some dialog choices and interrupts led to religious responsed even if I roleplayed him as non-religious in ME1. While it didn't ruin the game for me, this is the reason why ME3 is my least favorite in the series. Way back I asked one of the DA3 devs how much autodialog there would be in DA3, and the reply was that autodialog is usually only determined by previous choices. I sicnerely hope that's true.

Since it came up in a different thread:

Physical disfiguration based on karma/alignment would ruin DAI for me beyond any possibility of recovery. Ethics aren't tied to physical appearance. Period. The idea is delusional and panders to the worst stereotypes in existence. Kill it with fire....and then nuke it. Thrice.

I enjoyed that aspect of Fable, but I agree that it would not compliment the DA games.

Well let's see.......

1) An ending that doesn't make sense or lacks closure.

2) The protagonist just 'disappearing' again.

3) Being railroaded into supporting the Chantry and/or Templars.

4) The protagonist dying at the end of the game with nothing the player can do about it. (I liked the way Origins did it. You could sacrifice yourself or opt for one of the two different ways out of it.)

5) Forced Chantry/Templars winning no matter what you do or whose side you're on.

Yup, those five things would ruin the game for me.

MP affecting SP. Though I eventually did get into ME3 MP, the whole Galactic Readiness % still makes my teeth grind sometimes when I think about it. Promoted enough that my bar in SP is full even in Act 1 and at 53% now.

If there's similar "let's force you to play the 'completely optional' MP if you want to see everything" BS, some kind of Thedas Assets or Thedas Readiness, I'll probably just walk away.

Tallis was bearable, IMO.  She wasn't executed as poorly as a certain other "Thank You IGN" character.

If some seeker or mage pops up named Allers though....

Tallis is going to be in the game in any case.shrugs. If the game is dull and boring like DA 2 often was. A poor take off on the Bethesda rpgs . Lacking that epic feel that DAO has.

I could take or leave Tallis, but the MoTA puzzles/games/combat was fun.
