After Alistair appeared as a drunk in the Hanged Man for a whole chapter of DA2 (don't recall if he's still there in act 2 and 3) if you left Loghain alive in DAO, I seriously doubt that they'll retcon that.AxeloftheKey wrote...
Ignoring another MASSIVE DAII/DA:O choice, for one thing. If Anders can live no matter what, if no one even REFERENCES which side Hawke took, if Alistair has somehow become the King no matter what, that sort of thing. I don't expect this, but it worries me.
Also, I see ignoring major choices as a concern, but I'm not altogether averse to fudging consequences. For instance, I wouldn't mind if Morrigan found some way to get a child with the soul of an old god even if you didn't do the ritual in DAO, just because it makes for a better story.

What will make it a sure hit? Tons of dragons. With the Supreme dragon highlord flying around roaring: "this is our age, humans! GTFO!"

Haha, exactly. Silly straights.... characters in most games are straight and gays/bi are nowhere to be seen. And now that everyone is bi, you have a problem. If a game where everyone being bi is "unrealistic" (LOL) then everyone being straight is unrealistic as well.
The DA team is really good with romances and thank jebus for this. ME team failed really hard in this department.

Except, umm, let's see Guild Wars 2, Skyrim, I am sure there are others lol, I think a couple of dragons as special encounters works well. Make them harder though.

I just wonder what Mage vs Templar have anything to do with dragons? At least the Blight have, Achdemon is a dragon of a sort

That's a toughie. I would say: DA2 combat along with useless powers (a good balance please), companions that you can only speak at certain moments in the story (only to give you an auto-response once the conversation is over), BLOOD MAGIC HERP DERP, limited conversation options, wave combat, and finally,
However, this a worst-case scenario and I doubt Bioware will disappoint.

Everything has to do with dragons. They're behind everything. There is power in the blood (not just blood magic), and dragon blood has the most power.

The gay/Lesbian/Bi characters being either extremely stereotypical (Zevran, Leliana, Traynor) or so innofensive that they literally are cardboard. (Steve). Next, give all the interesting LIs to the straight people.

If DA:I had no choices, or no companions, I wouldn't like it. Also if the combat was so cutthroat that you lost companions if they "fainted". I suppose after a couple more DAII I could lose interest, but they are the only ones who go through character developement and, for me, give the world Character. I tried loving Skyrim, and before DA:I probably would have gobbled it up, but there was no in depth talking to the NPCs and weirdly...that ruined it. I read books for characters, and without the hero having friends to practice jibes with, or rivals to argue with...it loses interest. I realize I am a niche market, I don't even care about romance really, just the characters and their interaction with good ol throw downs thrown in.
I could even deal without the combat, which would be weird, but give me a game with a mage who can't use her powers for some reason getting out of the circle and remain in hiding with the help of companions? I am sold. It would be different, but I would love it. Just as long as it wasn't a puzzle game. I am probably the one person who would play Talking to Your Companions...The Game as long as it came with a plot.
I abhor shooters, but I played through 3 games of Shooters ie Mass Effect because the companions and the world. Grandmother of all Thresher maws? meh. Krogan culture as roving war lords, gender dynamics and relations with others? Yes! The fighting in Dragon Age2 was a bit dull due to being a little pointless. I certainly don't play them multiple times for the combat. I play for the roleplaying value which gives it worth due to the worlds reactivity to my choices and...the companions.
Thankfully, I don't think Bioware is going to go against their MO anytime soon, so there might be more or less interest based on the game, but they seem to be the only ones making my types of games.
Sorry this became more of a rant on why I will get most of anything Bioware makes, despite the level of value it might be as a game at large, less that I think the games are above fault, and more that with all their faults I enjoy them due to fitting my niche interests I don't expect anyone to have the same interests as I do, but it did help me understand why I like the games.

-If the ending is as crappy as DA2's and ME3's.
-If dead characters insist on returning.
-If the "romance" is the same lame, juvenile, childish ****e it's been in Bioware's latest titles.
-If they keep "streamlining" and removing the possibility to create the sort of character I'd like to play.
All said, after the DA2 and ME3 debacle, there's no way I am going to buy DA:I at release. I'll wait and see what the word is, to make certain I am not throwing my money after another unfinished game.

Yeah, beyond Zevran who was pretty flamboyant and campy (though not even in a terribly offensive way,) I'm just not seeing this.

A perfect summary of why Bioware's credability and quality of work is in absolute crisis, as well as corperatism and the death of good Big Studio games in general.
