Seriously though, breaking the game into chapters was annoying, I hope they don't do that again and not explaining what happened to the warden or hawke. Plus all the little glitches and bugs not being fixed like in the last 2.
edit oh yeah as above poster, multiplayer affecting single player, should never happen.

If the game yet again centers around contrived, unexplained supernatural threats and ancient evils that works as blatantly obvious plot devices, then I would have no interest in the game.
I'd want BW to focus on what they exactly they want to tell, and have a consistency with their themes they want to portray, which is something both DA2 and ME3 failed at. I would also want for BW to have a more proactive protagonist, who is surrounded by strong characters who are not in a desperate need of the PC and can actually do something on their own (and not deliberately making the protagonist the 'centerpiece' of the the setting). Political intrigues would also be a nice addition, especially considering the--most likely--setting, but I doubt in BW's abilities to write something as coherent as that, so I very much doubt it will happen.
Yeah, very much this, I agree with everthing you said. Especially on the topic of companions. I did like many of the characters in DA2, or at least tried to, but them ALL being desperate in needing Hawke's help for really annoyed me.

Though I guess if the whole game turned out to be nothing but heteronormative drivel, that'd be...bad. But I don't think I have much to worry about there.^^

DA2 characters with large roles to play in the game.
Same, though only not all of them. Would be nice to mention what Isabela and Varric may have done with Alisair, and I hope Sebastian will play a role.

If I think its really awful I'd probably just join some discussions on the BSN with other people who didn't like it until I felt less annoyed and then move on with my life. I don't ever bother returning or selling games so I'd just leave it.
The big thing that could ruin the game for me is the ending. I really hate endings that don't make sense to me or do not fit with the rest of the story/game. I also don't like sad endings. So endings that are depressing, make little sense, don't fit the rest of the book/movie/game really don't sit well with me and always completely ruin the entire thing.
The only other thing that would ruin it is if I don't like a single character, and considering every Bioware game has had at least a handful of characters I really like I don't see that happening.
I can excuse practically anything else in a game as long as the characters and ending are good, so there's nothing else that would completely ruin the game for me.
I seriously doubt I will find the game absolutely awful or be disappointed by it though. I was disappointed by Dragon Age 2 but still found it fairly average, and am going into the next game with lowered expectations, so It would take a complete disaster for me to deem it 'awful'.
Bioware is trending on grimdark emo endings that lack logical connection to previous events in the story. MY advice. Spoil the ending for yourself before you buy the game. I know I will. After ME3 the words Never again mean something to me I never expected.

- Herp derp paraphrases.
- Pre-defined PC.
- Interactive movie, not RPG.
- Voiced PC.
- Dialogue wheel.
- Consolisation of the game.
- Dumbed down dialogues(I wunt to b a dragun!!!!!11111oneone).
- Dumbed down combat with AWESUM BUTTUN mashing.
- Emo crybaby, always whining NPCs.
- Autodialogues.
Yet I'm looking forward to next installment of Twilight: Inquisition because the amount of lulz to be expected is legendary

Combat overly focused on auto-attack spam
Over-emphasis on "cinematic experience"
Requiring internet connection to play = automatic no-buy

Emphasis mine. If I may say so, with all due respect, this is something I don't really understand. It's one thing if there are major bugs (particularly game-breaking ones), or even if you get a little ways into the game and stop there. But playing a game through to completion and then wanting to return it is something I personally don't get. Obviously, every store will go by its own policy, but if you've finished the game (or the movie, or the play, etc.), I feel like that option should no longer be on the table. The Wolf Man wrote...

I suppose if I really didn't like the game, I'd return it. Then I'd post my review (I write them regardless of good or bad experiences...). If the content was bad enough, I might address the company, but that would depend on what aspect of the game needs improvement.
To answer the topic, though, I have a hard time imagining any reasonable scenario where something in Inquisition ruins the whole game or franchise for me. I have my preferences, sure, but I don't think that there's a single one they couldn't theoretically go against that would necessarily lead to me not enjoying the game. If that did happen, all I can really say is that I would keep it in mind in the future.
And remind myself that at least it wasn't THE BANE OF MY CHILDHOOD.

And - as someone else already said: I would be really sad if there was no romance option anymore. I love the Dragon Age games especially for their romance options. I would play it without, but I know, I wouldn't enjoy it that much.

- boring / predictable story arc and boring companions / ending that's absolutely bananas (an inFamous-like ending would probably kill my interest in the series)
- overt sexism / homophobia / racism / etc. (but BW is pretty good about this so this probably won't be a problem)
- excessive retconning and butchered lore (and I'm serious about the lore [insert Judge Dredd-joke here] -- I am one of those people who is annoyed that in Awakening Anders has a point in Runecrafting by default, and that that particular Skill is even available to anyone but the dwarves in your party) -- Deception probably traumatized me for good...
- turn-based combat (I just can't get into it), too slow combat, and combat where there are no CCC's / spell combinations (I have to admit I prefer CCC's in most cases, but Storm of the Century is just so very awesome... if a bit TPK-prone on the higher difficulties)

Or any other character that has "Plot Armour" that restricts me from taking a logical action as opposed to standing there doing nothing...
Cullen as a party member/love interest, one of the most annoying, boring and stupid characters in the game (hi there im Cullen the templar and even though you have just saved my life by throwing spells at the nasty abomination attacking me i will utterly fail to spot that your a mage....)
Key one for me, multiplayer having any bearing AT ALL on completing the game. No objections to a MP element but it should in NO WAY AT ALL have any bearing AT ALL on completing the game.

Also, I can never understand the imbeciles who think DA2 has hack-and-slash combat. FABLE has hack and slash combat. DIABLO has hack and slash combat. DA2 does not. If you can pause, tab-target enemies, and control a party while using tactics in combat (and DA2 did allow for *some* tactics- don't deny it) then it is not hack and slash, you morons.
