- Flashy and cartoony DA2 combat with exploding enemies, flask-kicking, teleporting, animations missing frames, backflips every two seconds....
- No exploration
- Awful character creator a'la DA2
- Having the whole world revolve around my ultra special god-amongst-men character like in the Mass Effect series
- Dumbed down combat and spell system that does not require using any tactics - also like in DA2
- Not being able to change the gear of a companion
- Recycled areas

I don't think I can handle another cliffhanger and PC disappeared ending. I'm hoping for variety of possible endings and an overview of what happened to the companions and places we visited. Something that gives a satisfacting closure to the story.
Other than that I hope that the combat moves slightly back toward DAO and I hope elves and darkspawn get another redesign. Elves are supposed to be attractive after all and I liked DAO darkspawn better. In DA2 darkspawn look like skeleton monkeys. But if the game is really good otherwise I can live with not getting these things

But I think them getting rid of full party control is a possibility. In many ways, DA2 was a step in that direction. (Though I still loved combat, but aspects of it were surely geared towards, play as one character. And with gear management, etc. Edit: Actually, I recall some discussion in one of the recent PAX panels hosted online somewhere which made me think, "Oh, they're going to focus combat on one character at a time," but I can't recall what it was. Something about taking out a saarebas with an archer. But, it was just an impression I got, quite possibly incorrect.)
If that happened, I'd probably still play the game, to find out what happens next with the plot, etc, but I wouldn't rush to it.

- Using the same areas over and over again.
- My choices in past games make little to no difference.
- Being forced to pick a side like the mage/templar fiasco (whatever happened to being neutral?)
- Useless loot.
- Lack of deep customization options for weapons, armor, etc.

I don't know that I have one set dealbreaker but there is a list of negatives that I would hate to see
-Forced to play as human again (I know this is confirmed but I still hate it)
-"Streamlining" dialogue and dialogue options even more (DA2 less dialogue options than DA:O, ME2 always had 3 dialogue options on the right, as well as investigate options on the left and sometimes paragon/renegade choices on the left as well, ME3 had 2 dialogue options on the right and almost never investigate options so dialogue was slimmed down from 6 to 2)
-Flash over substance, awesome button animations and cutscenes with no depth
-Character building slimmed down (ME3 you were shoehorned into one character with only slight differences between paragon and renegade unlike previous games)
-Everyone including the PC is stupid and ineffectual (ME3 info learned in previous games about how to kill reapers conventionally is never shared and everyone throws resources at some mysterious unproven mcguffin instead of strategizing, DA2 Hawke can't put two and two together in any situation despite extreme, hamfisted hints such as with his mother's disappearance or Anders' actions, authority figures are all useless and rely on the PC to do every little thing, etc...)
-Reused maps
-Maps that are small, undetailed, unoriginal, and lackluster
-Cheesy cameos from previous games that pop in, say a line of theirs that became an internet thing in a super corny and obvious way
-Shallow, uninteresting plot that seems to have been written for children
-Another "timeskip" where no time passes and nothing actually changes...even Fable 2 did timeskips really well at least twice in the game and you clearly see not only the passage of time but how your actions affected things
-Music that is dull and doesn't stand out (ME3 and DA2 both)
-Cartoonish looking people and redesigns (darkspawn, elves, etc...)
-JRPG influence (I put JRPGs behind me for a reason)
-Lack of lore and culture shown in the game (ex: in DA:O elves were actually discriminated against and treated badly at every turn, the alienage looked like a ramshackle slum, in DA2 elves whine about inequality but it's never shown and the alienage looks like nice, clean, pretty and high end appartments instead of crappy shacks built from trash and scavenged bits)
-Incredibly annoying, REQUIRED companions who are not integral to the plot and who you can't murderknife as soon as you meet (Merril)
-Being unable to change the outcome of any situation (DA2, to a lesser extent ME3)
-One ending
-Short, shallow dungeons that take 5 minutes and all you do is have a quick conversation with some guys at the end and then kill them 100% of the time (DA2)
-No puzzles
-No non-combat skills, quests, or resolutions
I thought they were going in the right direction with the Legacy DLC for DA2 but since the DLC was canceled after MoTA (not really a fan of MarySue variety hour) my hopes started on the decline again until ME3 at which point they were flushed down the toilet. My expectations at this point are at an all time low, and I think it would be very difficult for BioWare to make the game worse than what I expect. It sucks because before DA2 I was a huge fan.

If there's "extra cost" day one DLC characters that are integral to the story of the game.
As I won't be pre-ordering this time, if I read that's been done again, my cash stays in my wallet. Simples!
I'm fine with DLC that's a genuine addition to games, even with extra characters, but creating integral characters, then shipping them as day one DLC... or that I have to pay extra to unlock, I detest. Makes me feel I've bought only part of a game.

aparently taking 10 seconds of time in a 20+ hour game for sex scenes is FAR too long for romance...
I honestly hate to see how he reacts to stop lights... cause most of those are OMG 30 seconds long for a full cycle.

Emphasis mine. If I may say so, with all due respect, this is something I don't really understand. It's one thing if there are major bugs (particularly game-breaking ones), or even if you get a little ways into the game and stop there. But playing a game through to completion and then wanting to return it is something I personally don't get. Obviously, every store will go by its own policy, but if you've finished the game (or the movie, or the play, etc.), I feel like that option should no longer be on the table. The Wolf Man wrote...

I suppose if I really didn't like the game, I'd return it. Then I'd post my review (I write them regardless of good or bad experiences...). If the content was bad enough, I might address the company, but that would depend on what aspect of the game needs improvement.
To answer the topic, though, I have a hard time imagining any reasonable scenario where something in Inquisition ruins the whole game or franchise for me. I have my preferences, sure, but I don't think that there's a single one they couldn't theoretically go against that would necessarily lead to me not enjoying the game. If that did happen, all I can really say is that I would keep it in mind in the future.
And remind myself that at least it wasn't THE BANE OF MY CHILDHOOD.
Well, if I started playing the game and hated it after a couple hours of gameplay, I think I deserve my 40-60 bucks back. If I complete the game but didn't enjoy much of it, I would just resell it for less than what I paid. You might not agree but I think that it's fair.

I don't know of any retail outlet that refunds the full price of the game if you "didn't like it". It would be an astoundingly stupid business move. Especially since there's no way to prove how much of it you played.
I know that the retail outlets here do not accept PC games back, period, once the game has been used. Only way to return it is if you never opened the package. For obvious reasons, of course. Can't say about console games, as I don't play them.

I believe Amazon did for ME3 after the ending fiasco.

How do you expect to prove that you only played the game a couple of hours? Unless you bought it, went straight home and started playing, only to return it exactly two hours later, it's not possible.
