Happy endings are not artistic thread starter. Sad stupid endings that makes you feel like crap and not wanting to replay the game is the way to go.

wanting to replay a single player videogame is not very smart either

Your post and your name, definition of an oxymoron.

i don't know what oxymoro means,plz clarify

If they really cared about only me, they would have actually, you know, used the EMS system they created to make less grim endings possible.

They made it because fans were so p*ssed even amazon was giving refunds for returned ME3 games.  They had to stem the tide somehow, so EC was made to run out the clock.

As it is, EC is the exact same endings (+1 "Screw you, hater!" ending), only more detailed.  A delaying tactic and nothing more.

...Except only two (low EMS destroy and reject) of the endings are grim? And even those two have optimism and hope for the future.

Yeah, I'd love to see EMS matter more than as an arbitrary number. But that is never going to happen. Not after they shipped with the original endings. Time, budget, and restrictions make that impossible for a mere DLC.

Control and Synthesis have their own horrific connotations, as explained in other threads.

...Which are made up by fans trying to find the most negative thing possible to justify their own choices. I believe in Death of the Author and all that, but a lot of you get real absurd about it

That's irrelevant.  Bioware is free to create and express their ending in whatever fashion they please.  By all means, become a developer, create a game similar to this, create endings that suit your vision, but majority and minority will only matter in future sales.  As this is a similar cycle to each game they release, most fans will be back and there will always be new hordes of players.

If you don't like the direction they're going (I know I don't), then follow something else and if they happen to peak your interest in a future title, have realistic expectations for that title alone and learn from your past mistakes as a consumer.

Because they don't care what their fans want, hence why that full fail ending was quite literally a middle finger to any who disliked their endings enough to want a fourth option.

Ah yes!  The business plan of all successfull companies!  "Yeah, ya see?  We hates yuze fanz zo we'za gonna give ya da middle finger, see!  Cuz that way ya  'ill spend lots o money on our product, see!"

Ok, allow me to translate what  a lucid mind (truly an oxymoron for a name considering what he posted) said.  "Because they don't care what *I PERSONALLY* want (and since *I* want it surely EVERY  SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS EVER OR EVER WILL PLAY the game ALSO wants it because the ONLY opinion that is EVER valid is MY OWN), hence why etc etc etc".

Bioware and EA are a company.  The purpose of ANY company is to make a profit for their owners/stockholders.  They do this by producing a product that other people want.  Since they have sold many units of the ME franchise, and are still selling them, and there is apparently an interest in more ME games, movies, books, comics, music, etc, it stands to reason they're making SOMEONE happy.

Honestly, we all know the people that have stuck around on these forums for 1+ year to complain about the endings are going to buy the next game anyway.

from what i understand EA heavily pushed them to get the game out early. there have been plenty of great games that have been ruined from being rushed.

the originol ending "the dark matter one" was hinted in ME2 and some bits of ME1

i dont blame bioware so much as a blame the people pushing them to get the game out early instead of taking time for it to be perfect.
but its sad how i already see rude comments. if you liked the ending or not we should still respect each other. we all have played these wonderful games and should understand why some still loved it and why others did not

Refuse is for all those tree huggers that want to end the destruction of the galaxies nature resources. Oh wait, that was basically just Shepard that was doing that.

lolno.

Even before ME3 BSN was famous for being a toxic community. Or have we already forgotten the epic flamewars about whether or not Mass Effect 2 is a RPG

I think all he's trying to say is that it's all subjective. The EMS system does work to provide variations. The EC is too "grim" for you, but others might have a different opinion.

Hell, even the MEHEM has some level of "grim." The relays and the Citadel are destroyed and the casualities from the war are still astronomically high. Also most of the homeworlds are devastated.

grimgrimgrim grimmy grim grim.

It's what happens when you churn out terrible endings to a trilogy five years in the making and say "speculate"
