You're elite level in ME3 but haven't done SP 'insanity' level?

On the PS3, you can see trophies (=accomplishments on XBox) of players you meet in matches.  Once in a while I'll take a look at these for players that have impressed me (e.g. dominate the scoreboard) .  It surprises me to see almost all trophies except the insanity one.  I mean, anyone that can solo gold+ should easily be able to do insanity? Heck, I did and I am far less skilled in MP than the elites here.  Takes a different skill set -- maybe just a lot more patience (I used the 'stop action' feature in SP to line up shots -- both mine and teammates powers).

So I wonder why but I guess I'll get the same responses as those given to why not solo matches -- too boring or something.  But, it seems this insanity accomplishment means much more than Lone Wolf or BOTB -- after all the whole world, not just the ME3 community, can see you've got that platinum trophy.

I just haven't bothered, and I'm sure that answer applies to most of the 'Elite' players you're looking for answers from. I haven't touched the Singleplayer since the EC came out, and that was my third playthrough. The MP was just so much more interesting to me, so I never went back to SP.

Most players don't play on the hardest difficult. Probably they played the SP before the MP and didn't tried again, or just prefer to play the SP only for the story and want to rush as fast as possible the battles, or they doesn't know that insanity is easy as hell, mostly after you get used with the MP difficult.

For me, I'be been playing this game since launch. I played SP campaign once in the beginning on Hardcore. I sucked at MP at the time (like got kicked from a bronze game once). 14 months later, I can score well, solo gold, etc. but never bothered to go back and re-play SP.

Yeah, the single player is so much easier than MP, and MP is a lot more fun too.

I did my insanity run just for the sake of completing every achievement.

One other possibility is they simply didn't like the SP well enough to complete more than a single playthrough. And it's not common for the people to do their first one on insanity, so even though they would be up to the job without problems, they simply have no motivation to do so.

I know if I hadn't done my insanity run before playing MP it wouldn't have been done. I prefer to game with friends rather than play a game alone.

Anyone who is at Silver level or above could sleepwalk through Insanity SP.

Why should I bother with Insanity?

If I go to SP i go ghere to reexperience the story. Insantiy just unnecessarily gets in the way of that. If I want to be challenged gameplay wise, MP is much better at doing that.

So for me doing Insanity SP would be insane. :)

P.S. not that I'm anything like elite at MP yet...

I found only a few sections of it difficult -- probably the hardest for me -- the very last part, before you go meet the boy, and have to kill a few husks and a maurader with only a pistol, whilst dizzy near death.  Took me a bit of practice to do that.

edit:  guess we aren't supposed to discuss SP here so ...

Sure, I started insanity runs. Except I've done many playthroughs, I know what to do. The moon's rockets for ME, the first rocket drones for ME2 and I haven't bothered to find out where I get stone walled in ME3. I am used to not dying. I'm also used to not saving for over an hour, with or without auto-saves.
So knowing how much work the games are, I'm reluctant to slog through insanity. I knew I wouldn't get that achievement the moment I saw it when I started playing ME when it came out. Hell, having playing SP too much, I'm reluctant to replay the first two games to have specific history for the third one.

The ending killed the story for me. It is hard to go back.

I'm not elite by any means. I finished me2 on insanity about 20 times. I only completed me3 sp once - was a huge disappointment, and did not want to bother seeing the (basically) same ending again. I have played mp a lot, 1300 hours, and have map mastery 7 times. Single player is just not enjoyable - they ruined the replay ability for me.

If my jackass friend hadn't scratched the first disk, I assure you I would have finished it. I was on the Cerberus base too...

I played the SP only once, did it on Hardcore. But I never got back to it. I stopped playing ME all together for some other games. Then I reached out to my game collection and thought "hmmm that was kind of fun" and started to play the MP, but it never crossed my mind to play the SP again.

Have all the DLC but never played Omega and the newest DLC. Maybe I should, but I just bought all the DLC because I play the MP so much. Just bought it as a token of appreciation.

And besides that... I couldn't care less about trophies.

Beating the SP on Insanity does not mean anything, it is easy as hell and not comparable to gold/platinum MP.

I've only completed the single player once and have absolutely no intention of ever playing it again, I'm sure you can guess why. Anyway, the multiplayer is a lot of fun still and it's good to play with friends.

In my SP Insanity playthrough, only one part was "hard" (as in Gold solo-hard, so not bad at all), the Atrium on Grissom Academy...

If it wasn't for MP, I'd have completed 10-ish SP playthroughs.
