Anyone who is at Silver level or above could sleepwalk through Insanity SP.

I did some SP a while ago and stopping the action to select the powers became somehow annoying... So I ended up with a Sheppard with 3 powers full and 2 ammo types, so I could handle all enemies... I had points left and played it just as I did in MP.

Was more fun some how.

The flow of single player combat is so painfully halting to me now. All the freaking pauses and time delay drive me crazy. Plus leveling up a character in SP seems painstakingly slow.

Insanity is easier than Bronze. The only reason I haven't actually completed it is because I hate the ending and stopped playing after the attack at the Cerberus HQ.

In my SP Insanity playthrough, only one part was "hard" (as in Gold solo-hard, so not bad at all), the Atrium on Grissom Academy...

If it wasn't for MP, I'd have completed 10-ish SP playthroughs.

I have to say though, Citadel DLC is pretty challanging on insanity, much more the Grissom Academy.

ps: I have to admit, I struggled a little bit on Grissom too

Insanity on mass effect 1, now that's a different matter. Luna base!!!

That mission was a pain in the arse, even on normal, which is what I played it on.

On topic, I played through on normal, finished the game with 2 characters, then went to MP. I dabble in SP maybe once every 6 weeks but when I do, I keep thinking "I could be playing MP" and then I do. So...I'll never finish the game on insanity, cuz it takes away from my MP time.

Yeah, EDI kicks your ass seriously in ME1 on insanity on Luna, those rocket-drones and their one-shot-kills made me raged big time back then...

One other possibility is they simply didn't like the SP well enough to complete more than a single playthrough. And it's not common for the people to do their first one on insanity, so even though they would be up to the job without problems, they simply have no motivation to do so.

This would be my exact response. I'd love to go back some day and do a NG+ on Insanity but it's so hard to find a reason to replay ME3. Unlike previous games where you could really try out different combinations of decisions, relationship paths, etc. there's little motivation to do so in the final chapter when you already know how it all ends. Besides, I've done Insanity in the other two games and it was pretty damn easy, with MP under my belt, there's little incentive to even bother with it in the third.

So glad I'm not the only one. Just knew I was doing it wrong. Far as I knew there was no BSN back then.

Lolwut?

Just recently played ME1 again myself, Adept, Insanity, around level 25 when I hit the Luna base. Mission was over without fatalities in under five minutes.

Softcover people. Those drones are easy to lure into the access tunnels where you can just pop in and out of soft cover at your own discression.

Don't mean to sound condescending, just saying the mission is easy.

The only mission that's really challenging on ME1 insanity is the Thorian bossfight. Those creepers bypass shields completely and even with Medical Exosceleton X they pretty much oneshot everything without immunity ... and there's sooo many of them that even my biotics couldn't manage all of them.

i'm not elite.
prefer to call myself an "ambitious veteran".

and i've yet to play the trilogy on insanity mode.
it's one of a few things left on my ME bucket list.

I hadn't heard of that or RHA, my whole playthrough would've went several hours faster.

I'm assuming that wasn't your first playthrough, when that mission was a walk in a park for ya. Obviously if I'm doing an ME1 playthrough now, I know to stay out of the room, funnel the ****ers in, and use soft cover. In 2007 I didn't even know what the term meant; "soft cover"..

That trophy is bugged for me. I have done it twice on the PS3 and it never registers. Vanguard with biotic team is easy mode. Who gives a **** about trophies anways?

I had the opposite , Thor Ian mission Is easy , Luna is v hard.

I also found Grissom a difficult mission on me3. That and the endless banshee and brutes in final battle are only bit where I need to use gel .

I can't be bothered to finish my 3rd play through , all on hardcore. Not sure I can be arsed with insanity either . But then I'm not elite anyway ;)

For all games, I play on the regular difficulty or a difficulty one step up on my first playthrough. The endings were just so bad that I lost all enthusiasm for replaying the game.

Granted. I was posting under the premise that you meant overall difficulty, not difficulty as a complete newcomer. I admit that my first playthrough of ME1 went ... unspectacular at Luna base the first time.

Well, overall none of the ME games are really hard, there are a few "more challenging" parts in each game (The Thorian in ME1, Horizon/Collector Ship in ME2, Grissom/Citadel in ME3...etc).

Having a Sniper Rifle with the Bullet Time power renders SP in ME 3 completely pointless, as well as messing up aiming skills for sniping in MP.

If I could turn that off, I might bother to go play Citadel, but as it stands, I don't see myself ever playing ME 3 SP again. It doesn't have the replayability that ME 1, and to some extent, ME 2 did.

Would it be overly Renegade for me to request that people who demand an inferior ending set to kindly step back from the fandom? Probably. Sure would feel good, though. But hey, not everyone has to be Shepard. Some of us can be support. :P

But eh. I did this game first time around on Insanity - the only real difficulty in any PvE game comes from learning, luck, or timing, I find. The only way to make a game truly hard is to have a reasoning opponent. If I didn't, though. I totally would go back. By the time the credits roll, I feel like a boss now. Hell, I started another runthrough for the fun of it. But I want to get that Plat solo done. Decisions...

Luna wasn't that hard if you knew what was coming ahead of time. Bring Garrus and Tali, Overload/Sabotage/Hack everything.

Trebin and the Thorian were the worst IMO. Husks and Creepers were so OP.

Got to Marauder Shields on Insanity and switched the game off. Insanity was a joke of a difficulty, but I really enjoyed Grissom Academy.

Now that I have platinum for breakfast, looking back to insanity seems like kind of a joke.
