Hilarious. Gotta love those who get the last word in then block/run away.

I expected the same level of commitment he claimed to display in games, but wasn't surprised that he didn't fully commit.

I was Relieved that it was over, Disgusted that the game only gives me people who should be playing Bronze, I felt used yes. Zero sympathy.

Nah, he's just under the impression that the best way to do devices is to abandon the guy getting the device and draw aggro away. I always thought this was an odd thing that some folks do. Aren't you supposed to just form a perimeter to keep them safe? They shouldn't be the target for enemies to shoot at in the area.

Oops, misread one part. Thought it said he was on the other side of the map killing enemies.

Smart/useful teammates will protect the guy doing the device.

He actually said he was on the other side of the map trying NOT to kill enemies. The kill-enemies bit came from when he was near the device. Of course, if you kill enemies near the device and your teammates are locking down the most distant spawn points, it generally won't do a **** of a lot of good, but most people don't think about such things. Most players seem to think that you either stand on top of the device getting or stay on the opposite side of the map.

I usually stand very near the device killing things while someone else caps it, and if the threat is to great to kill quickly... I defend with Rockets.

i think a combo of both is best.

Sitting right next to the device opens up the player getting the device to get hit by lolgoons, brutes, nades, etc. The other side of the map drawing aggro and kiting enemies is a good strategy... but if a single brute hasn't been drawn, then it has to be taken care of.

Good distance yet LOS is preferably in my opnion

Yeah, I got that. Like I said, I misread one part. You should ideally be close enough to protect them, but not too close as to get stray shots that could potentially knock them off. They're exposed and vulnerable, so you should be protecting them (with rockets when necessary). Generally, people staying away from the device are usually score whoring somewhere else.

Cluster nades are almost always thrown out at two players in one vacinity. It really is situational though. With Collectors I try to divide the aggro because of their BS tactics but have LOS on the defenseless player disabling where I can rocket if need be.

Best tactic for devices is one player standing close by (but not close enough for splash dmg to hit the one doing the device) and killing enemies that could be a danger to the device guy. That includes rocketing banshees and praetorians. The other two at the other side of the map drawing aggro and killing as few enemies as possible. If possible, the device guy shouldn't be left unattended.

It amazes me how people will buy a game when it's cheap yet can't be bothered to actually learn the mechanics. prime example, watch a puggernaught with no clue how heavy melee works die left and right. carrying someone like that isn't fun nor challenging. it makes the game work. that's when it's not worth staying.

Then leave like you said and don't be sad. Another problem solved... What's that? What about wasting ma consumables? What about it? It's all about having fun more for the most part. You ain't having fun, leave and try to find fun elsewhere.

OT: I'll usually burn through all of my consumables to carry a game if the other players are actually trying. If there are a bunch of leechers, it depends on how generous I'm feeling and whether I have the time/patience to carry them. I have bled out early in really bad PUGs (like all 3 consistently bleeding out in the early waves) because I simply didn't want to solo wave after wave. If they expect me to carry them to easy credits, **** them.

Pugs will sometimes bleed during the early waves because saving gels for later waves is more important. Nothing wrong with that, it's called being smart about it. I do this too if I know things should be fine with me staying down.

Now that I think about it, I did quit once. Got devices on Wave 3, so I went to do it, saw that my teammates showed absolutely no interest in it, they were all on the exact opposite side of the map. Wow, you're a jerk for pretending to know it all (course not intentionally a jerk. But this is a jerk move. Don't do it please). As in how you know that they couldn't get to you? How you know they maybe they didn't want all the enemies rushing to where you are casue everytbody is there? (I know when devices are up I usually am on the opther side of the map trying not to kill enemies to they spawn net to device)

Also, you shouldn't of started the device with enemies clearly around like a noob & hoping other to hop to it ASAP without taking thenm out first. ... As in usually if I see no enemies in sight or hear them near, I most likely got enough time to to device. If not, I kill apearing enemy, repeat, and hope pugs stay are far away as possible.

Haha, calling d_nought a noob. An experienced player knows when others are score whoring on the other side of the map. And I hope you realize that you basically just admitted to being a score-whoring noob.

They can't always know for sure. ... Unless he can read minds? ... But yeah, don't judge, least you be judged.

EDIT- what?!?! Me a score whoring noob>?!>!> lol, I suck way too much for that, lolol. But yeah, if i was, I'd of rage quite ages ago + not play with common and uncommon weapon in Gold. Nice try. But like I said, don't judge (sure accidentally we all do be, but try not too :innocent:) .........

Edit 2 - plus I said NOT killing them (if possible) since there is a chance for them to spawn next to objective.

Yeah, with friends this may be best? But not always with pugs. ... Though I could be wrong? What do I know, I'm pretty much a stupid pug myself... that don't scare about money... so the worst kind.

This happens a lot actually and its usually against Cerberus or Geth I find. Jump into a game in session and all 3 PUGs are down. Sometimes I help them out and pull them through, other times I'm not in the mood and quit to find another game. After all if I really wanted to solo, I would have chosen that and not jumped into a PUG.

If you can't stay alive past wv4 on gold on your own you probably should not play past Silver or Bronze.

I don't see it like this. Pugs that can't make it past wave 3 on Gold can extract if a decent player participates (is basically what I see). And these games can still be played as a team instead of a professional scorwhoring OP beyond OP setup Ramboing BSNer.

And if a pug wants to play Gold and is not ready for it. Well, that's fine too, cause playing Gold is possible even with weak weapons. And if they want to learn faster how to make money faster or enjoy more challenge, then that's fine too (and can you blame them? As long as they're not cheating via missile glitching or whatever, all is fair game, I say).

EDIT - and there are many good reason as to why that could of happened (them being all dead). Stick aropund games more to find out. ;)

Not really. How do you know you'll even get to the later waves that you've been saving your precious gels for if you go down? Once you go down, the outcome of the match is completely out of your hands. What if everyone else gets synced? Or what if they see you bleed out and do the same because they don't want to carry you?

I already addressed this in two previous posts. By staying on the other side of the map not protecting the guy capping the device, you risk them getting killed or knocked off since they're vulnerable and exposed. This is far from an ideal strategy.

For the first part; Well, if all goes wrong, all goes wrong. No big deal.

For the second part; I was thinking Firebase Jade, center hack, wave 10, all big time pugs, and Collectors. Everybody in the center rockets. Enemies respawn instantly in LoS & pugs dropping and gelling back to back.

EDIT - Oh, and lets no forget the most important part. This is playing with pugs. Not super reliable friends. Got's to learn to improvise.

Then there is the fact that there are 8 max enemies. 3 guys take 3/4 away, that's a lot of help. I'm sure anyone can deal with just two.

Two things: I do carry PUGs all the time and usually enjoy doing so, but by no means am I obligated to do so. I rarely use an OP setup as they are Boooring, but I wish more PUGs did. Maybe they could stay alive then and make it a challenge for me to get the gold revive medal. Instead of bringing in that squishy Fury carrying a Claymore, use the AIU or TGI dammit!

And you are right, a decent player can carry 3 PUGs to victory, but usually at the cost of their own consumables and what should be a 20min relaxed game turns into a 35 minute chaotic one. Don't always have time or energy for that.

Score whoring is a different thing. If you are into that then a bad group of PUGs is perfect. Have at it. Kill all the things with your OP setup and get the most out of your PUG decoys.

Yeah, that's how I handle it too. Make sure that if anything gets too close, I can draw it away, but don't be so close that stuff after me might attack the objective guy too. Sometimes, to make the objective go faster, though, I join them and we spin in opposite directions.

@Zero132132, so you only lure possessed abominations over to the objectives and blow them up when I'm on it?
