So there I was... with my HVB Typhoon toting Juggy, off host in some random PUG waiting to hook up with some buddies, got dropped in on wave 2. It was Cerberus/Reactor/Gold... wave 4... and they all died... all of them... rather early in the wave at that.

Now... I can clutch this without a problem. I have a Cyclonic III on, Rail Amp III, Disruptor Ammo IV... a normal Juggy loadout. There isn't a unit on this wave that can really even touch me... I can solo this in my sleep. Then it dawned on me... why should I? Why should I reward these pugs with more credits and experience when they refuse to earn it, refuse to medi-gel, refuse to try. I have a maxed manifest... oodles of consumables and my friends have invited me to a party to come play. I owe these non-deserving scrubs nothing... they're just trying to take advantage (a rather common plight of pugs and some scrubby BSNers who will remain nameless).

So... I quit... not bled out and got the wave 3 credits... quit and ended their game. To be honest.. it felt good and I regret nothing. Hopefully... it will teach the three of them to not rely on others to get their credits for them.

So I implore those of you with maxed manifests, who have nothing to prove by clutching anymore b/c you know you're badass... when this happens... just quit. You don't have anything to prove to anyone...

You'll like this, then mega.

I told this story to ME012 yesterday

I clutched wave 7 with my salarian infiltrator using the viper. Wave 8 began, and all three bled out within 30-60 seconds on cerberus/giant.

I then spent the next 15-20 minutes spinning in circles, taking each enemy down one by one. I was taking my sweet sweet time. I would even medi-gel if i went down.

Then came the last atlas. He was across the map. I spend the entire time spinning in circles until the atlas got close. I forced him to use his melee, and then i walked right in front to get sync-killed.

I made some enemies after that

I love soloing with pugs. Pugs are an inconvenience anyways. They're better off dead and out of my way.
I only need them for Hacks and escorts but other than that they can die for all I care Buahahaha:lol::devil:

I don't blame Megabeast to be honest. It all depends on the players, they don't have to be good, they don't even have to be competent at all, all they have to do is try. The cost of doing business in a gold game or higher is medigel, ops, and rockets. If you are not prepared to use those consumables then you don't deserve to have a better player bail out the team.

I still for the life of me cannot fathom why people in lobby refuse to equip any comsummable mods. I refuse to believe you do not have a cryo ammo II or a stabilization mod I etc.

I really need to land a game with you where you troll bad PUGs.

Well, you would see me casting Dark Channel on a Banshee and never shooting her. Then going around and teabagging worhless teamamates.

How do you teabag them AQ? I'm always interested to find out more teabagging techniques.

You can do that with a Volus. Bubble mode over them :P Double the insult.

It's more difficult to carry a team and have to lower ones strategy to a team denomiantor than it is to go into a game and solo.  As a matter of fact I've seen more than a few games where the good player who essentially is just soloing actually causes the demise of the rest of the group.  The players that do this often are simplynot as good players as those that are very good but also very team orientated.

I approve of this message.

When I stopped playing COD my "Avoided" stat was at 70%... now it's at 52%... I gotta fix that somehow.

Neither one of you has any reason to 'feel big'... you're both already known as some of the very best players on your respective platforms. Reaffirming this notion is redundant.

This 100%

I wouldn't quit on folks who are actually trying and use medi-gel when a revive isn't possible. I don't hold being a scrub against anyone... I was a scrub for a long time. This is evidenced by all the charity work I've done in this game. I do however... have great disdain for cheapasses who don't try... and those who say on the mic "I'm just gonna stay down."

I occasionally clutch a wave in this day an age on gold. Just to add some sauce on the OP. I've had a similar sort of thing happen. I'd burned all my missiles saving my team from sync kills. Was trying to be a good team player and all. So I'm clutching the wave, not intentionally slow, just making sure I account for what's following me and roughly where it is, when over the mic i get. "USE A MISSILE!!".

They don't gel and they ask you to fire the missiles you don't have cos you saved em from sync kills.

Conversely, I saw a dood with some gimpy dps clutch a couple banshee on Gold London. Couldn't help but be impressed. Dodged them warp balls like a boss with his back to them. Was almost worth the 15 minutes he took to kill them with that terrible sniper rifle.

I believe the BSN presence is strong enough that if everyone on BSN did this... it would make a difference. Now I don't expect that to happen... but I think a large percentage of people who have the skill to routinely clutch/carry, that are still playing this game were/are BSNers. Granted... they aren't ALL BSNers... but I wouldn't be surprised if more than half were. There really isn't that many people playing this still... I routinely see names I recognize in pugs.

I'm just joking.

Still, I don't particularly care too much about the quality of PUGs these days. I realized a long time ago that complaining about it isn't going to fix anything.

But... but... sometime I like stroking my e-boobs by being Miss Big Goddamn Hero. Image IPB

But yes, I definitely understand the sentiment when it is very obvious the team is filled with leechers who choose to go off and die at the start of every wave. I've actually begun to get on mic and start cursing people out for that, which is kinda sad as I'm not the typical raging gamer... but my God, at least try a little. Try a little or stay near me and try to not die 8 billion times, and I'm fine putting you in my backpack. Just don't make it so obvious by running to the nearest sync-kill unit the first 30 seconds of every wave.

Its not my job to save every idiot who just wants free credits.  If at least 1 player is trying I will carry if not I die bleed out and move on to the next lobby.  Unfortunately 2/3 games are getting to the point were there is either a leach a cheat or someone who belongs in bronze in the lobby.  I rarely feel like playing more than 2-3 games every few days now.

Well if you are still at that stage of the game where you feel the need to be a big goddamn hero... then by all means... be one.

I'm past that... I've been the hero countless times at this point. I don't want to be the hero anymore... I want someone else to be my hero... that's why I play with Slimjim all the time Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB

Nah. I like charity work. Though I will ditch any PUG to join friends.
