So there I was... with my HVB Typhoon toting Juggy, off host in some random PUG waiting to hook up with some buddies, got dropped in on wave 2. It was Cerberus/Reactor/Gold... wave 4... and they all died... all of them... rather early in the wave at that.

Now... I can clutch this without a problem. I have a Cyclonic III on, Rail Amp III, Disruptor Ammo IV... a normal Juggy loadout. There isn't a unit on this wave that can really even touch me... I can solo this in my sleep. Then it dawned on me... why should I? Why should I reward these pugs with more credits and experience when they refuse to earn it, refuse to medi-gel, refuse to try. I have a maxed manifest... oodles of consumables and my friends have invited me to a party to come play. I owe these non-deserving scrubs nothing... they're just trying to take advantage (a rather common plight of pugs and some scrubby BSNers who will remain nameless).

So... I quit... not bled out and got the wave 3 credits... quit and ended their game. To be honest.. it felt good and I regret nothing. Hopefully... it will teach the three of them to not rely on others to get their credits for them.

So I implore those of you with maxed manifests, who have nothing to prove by clutching anymore b/c you know you're badass... when this happens... just quit. You don't have anything to prove to anyone...

Flame Shield Up!

I know that feel. More and more often I'll do the same. If it isn't fun, at this point, what am I doing?

If I have to clutch a game full of worthless pugs I'm never happy about it, but I like quitting even less. If I feel they really tried then I'll play with them again happily even if I have to clutch, but if they weren't even trying then they only get one carry.

I find kiting the last enemy around the map fun while everyone is forced to twiddle their thumbs or quit and forfeit credits :)

I can't bring myself to do that. We all sucked once. I send helpful messages and leave the lobby if they're really bad. When I troll, I do it to be playful and only when I know the team can handle it. Other than that, I just don't have the consumables to waste. In fact, I feel better when I clutch a wave.

Edit: On second thought, I will fight to the death and save medi gel if they aren't trying and I'm not having fun, especially if I can get credits.  But I won't waste my own consumables and time to prove a point to people I don't know and might not even deserve it.

I never thought of it and you've got an interesting point. Now that I've maxed my manifest I may feel more free to quit when my team mates don't deserve to be carried.

Yeah for sure, to each their own. Sometimes it is mood dependent, but I have to remind myself that it IS a game, and if for some that means they don't try, and depend on others to do it for them, than it is fair that I can decide to say "fk it" and leave.

I don't know, I still hate wasting my equipment ;)
I'll clutch if I have to, although I might get really p*ssed at the randoms, depending on how stupid they play.

I'll clutch if there's a concerted effort.

I say "**** it" when there isn't and don't bother.

You don't like the sense of entitlement of the people you're playing with but you're going to quit because you feel entitled enough to get good players when you search for a PuG?

BSN logic never fails.

I've done a few wave 3 quits. There are times I get in those moods of I really don't feel like lugging around dead weight for 40 minutes. Bad pugs tend to sap the fun out of the game and when that happens, best pack and move on to the next. Will either teach the pug to actually play or a lobby fully of hate mail.

I've started quitting matches when people repeatedly go down early in waves on the other side of the map, refuse to medigel, don't use any rockets. By about wave 4 or 5, the pattern's obvious, I stop wasting resources on the match.

I do partly want to rage-clutch the match when it's against the cheese Geth or the cheese Collectors, but even then, when none of the PUGS are trying... might as well end the frustration sooner rather than later.

p.s. I thought spite spawning was just Brutes, but now I've seen spite spawns with other enemies happening to squadmates. It begs this question, were staggerlock and spite spawns something introduced at EA's direction, or was there someone at Bioware who really thought they'd make the game more enjoyable?

If I want to solo a wave/match, I'd start up a private by myself.. Though that isn't to say I won't attempt it, just don't be surprised if we wipe :P

What is the point of max manifest if you don't want to/ can't clutch cerberus gold, which is quite easy? What a waste. Almost everybody with bare manifest can clear gold with good teammate.

Megabeast, but why the heck are you even playing if that's the case?

I dont think you get credits for an earlier objective wave if you drop in after it. But yes, if I see 3 red skulls when I connect, I leave immediately.

Depends. I usually go into pugs without equipment. If it's against Cerberus and the team is bad I'll leave. If it's against Reapers, I'll stay and clutch because lolreapers.

If I have someone cheering me on I'll clutch. I'm a sucker for cheerleaders. I need to play with Dunvi again. She always compliments me for my headshots.

you only left because you had friend's inviting you. Otherwise, why would you quit if you were just planning to join another random lobby? the same thing could happen in the next game and if you only PuG gold games, they go by fast enough even if you have to clutch a few waves.

Playing a Jug, though, it's hard to keep your team alive if they are out of or refuse to medigel.

It`s understandable.

I sometimes quit the lobby if I believe host should not be hosting gold/plat game,
or drop in wave 1 game where there is only host and he/she is obviously overwhelmed.
