What is the point of max manifest if you don't want to/ can't clutch cerberus gold, which is quite easy? What a waste. Almost everybody with bare manifest can clear gold with good teammate.

Why should I? Give me one good reason why I should shoulder the burden that four people are supposed to share...

Part of playing PuG is you being better... because you know, they mostly are not as committed as us in playing this game.
If 3 players are already in a game, I usually just try to play the game with minimum effort.

I just hate the hosting players.. who start the game alone and who host gold/plat without equipment.
Other than that, I at least give some other PuG players credits for playing off-host and not quitting the game.

Anyway...

If I think a host is that kind of guy... you can expect me to play like with minimum care in the game.

the thing is that sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes just to get 1 person in the lobby because there are less players playing. So starting a match is less of a crime than quitting on pugs.

For me i'd rather carry a group n7 10's with avengers, who use medi-gel and actually try than a group of higher levelled, better equipped players who bleed out on every wave because they want to renact a rambo movie.

I prefer to solo that wave while constantly singing some song in Russian. Whenever someone starts raging about this, I say: "This is your punishment for failure".
EDIT: I really love singing, but my vocal skills suck.

I do get Megas point. I myself have nowhere near maxed out manifest, so usually i try to carry the game as far as i can... But last night i just fu**ing lost it  I even kicked people before i had had  one game with them. Why? Because i knew they would suck.

I like the fact that we get new players, but when my lobbies constanly get filled with N7 50-100 / cp ~ 300 i start to get frustrated. These guys don't even have gear, they get downed on wave 1, 2 ,3, 4, 5 etc and rage quit at some point when they don't get revived....  I btw hate that gold revive medal!

@megabeast
What you did was what I did two months ago, after a PUG that lasted for too many minutes, with 3 players without any medigel (I checked their HQ after I left). And I agree with your conclusion, as I said before. I clutched wave 7, 8 and 9 then understood I had to quit.
And it did work, since one of my PUG PMed me after my post, told me I was right, and bought a bunch of gels.

edit: what's funny about it is someone told me that "not using medigel" is a... playstyle.

It baffles me that the game is over a year old, and yet the majority of PUG players are still totally f*****g useless. To this day, threads complaining about PUGs still dominate these boards. I think this qualifies it as an actual gameplay issue.

The next game, if the multiplayer is the same, the devs need to implement a player blocklist function that prevents blocked players from popping up in your games again. That way if you're total crap who doesn't contribute, doesn't know how objectives work, yet still keeps joining Gold lobbies, you'll find it increasing difficult to find a game to join.

I pretend to clutch, and when I'm bored, I run towards the closest sync-killers. That'll teach them.

edit: I hope they implement an ingame kick feature, like in Chivalry.

I gotta say that newer players are behind the 8 ball. Need alot of credits for the premium packs and even JEP packs arent the best except to get gels and stuff. Ive been playing my other account for a bit, and have a ton to unlock still. With so much to unlock, I get jack crap for consumables. I dont even have any ammo. None.

Whats a poor random to do!!!!

Most PUGs are bad because
- N7 points : people assume you're good and reliable if you have a high level
- the game is unclear about power properties
- the forum is the only reliable source of info for some things
- you need money, and not skill, to upgrade your weapon
- completionnists feel the need to grind mindlessly
- you can go to Gold or Platinum without achieving something in Bronze or Silver
- level 20 should be mandatory, even if you don't allocate points
- people can't see how many gels you have left - we need free consumables

To find diamonds in the rough... they do exist. I met Darkseid in a PUG, for instance. They don't al suck... and I don't even mind them sucking... but I do mind them not trying.

Nice, I do not need to look for a new idol.

If I have already joined the team, then I
always clutch. But I'll do it calmly and cautiously because I'm old and
slow. Some leave during this time, however, the ones who remain, they
usually continue to play better.

What GallowsPole and Cheylus are saying. Many times it only appears that a PuG isn't trying, or is unwilling to use medi gel or rockets. If you look at my manifest, I'm still constantly out of medi gel.

Honestly, I have always blamed unintentionally bad PUGs on the RNG store and rewards system. The store equips newer players with weapons they're not comfortable with. For example, in the first few weeks , all I got were snipers and sniper mods/consumables/gear, yet I'm the most comfortable with everything else, especially assault rifles and pistols. Many players want to contribute, but can't because they are equipped with things they don't use/can't use together.

Also, a big problem I see that only GallowsPole touched on is the bad reward system. Even playing at Silver, where newer players are supposed to be getting more credits to afford the necessary manifest to contribute in a Gold game, at the most you earn about 33000 credits. That's just enough to get a JEP. God forbid if your team ends up wiping or gets less than full extraction. For them, many times their Silver games don't go smoothly, so they end up using all of their medi gel by the time they reached the store. Then they have to choose between getting (gambling for) the right guns, or spending everything on a single JEP, the only pack guaranteed to give players medi gel. What happens is that those players are forced to spend all credits on medi gel, just so they can spend the next match's credits on medi gel. They simply cannot save without playing on Gold or hoarding/refusing to stock up on medi gel.

There's no profit below Gold, and I think that contributes to the PuG problems almost as much as the RnG store.

That is why you stick with power based classes when starting out: any of the adepts, flamer characters or other characters that don't depend on weapons. Stay away from soldiers & infilitrators in general as most of them require weapons to make an effective build.

Maybe the MP or SP shouldv'e had a tutorial in which they showed us about explosions etc.

@viper_veteran Thing is, the metagame puts power users at a disadvantage. Between factions a e enemies that trivialize powers, high dodge rates, and a few under-powered abilities, there aren't many options.

OR you could just be more selective about your lobbies. I will often spend up to 20 min going from lobby to lobby before i start a Gold match.

I dont play plat, but i would guess that there are VERY few decent pugs on there, most either new players or glitchers or leaches.

We already have this on xbox - although it then blocks them from all your MP games, not just ME3

It doesn't work very well. We used to block and report and kick missile glitchers and many of those same ones pooped into our platinum lobbies multipile times everyday.

really? I've never encountered anyone a second time after blocking them (or so I assume if they dont have a sad face next to their name). Maybe there just arent enough platinum players out there or something?

It would be unlikely, but possible.

When matchmaking, the "avoided" players form the last pool searched, but they will be searched if a lobby can't be filled with the existing "un-avoided" players. Depending on the game, this can be an issue.

I've never run into an avoided player playing ME 3 MP that I know of, but I would run into avoided players playing Saint's Row 2 or 3 all the time.

It doesn't make it impossible, but it makes them the least likely people, of those available, to be matched up with.
