Second, you have to put way more effort to save them. ie. You shouldn't clutch more then 2 waves cause of your extra effort to save them all more often with rockets, gels, etc. It's a team game or nothing. Otherwise you belong in sp mode or just with friends only mode.
Thus you end up playing more as a team instead of "Me lone wolf Rambo. You stay in backpack. Me carry all. Me epeen is montradonous. Plenty of room." That of course screams to pugs "yeah, let this hero do it all. Feels like I'm just wondering around doing nothing anyways? ... This epeen is really massive, OP, and comfortable.... pass the lotion."
I play pugs all the time, and no way are they worse as they're made out ot be here every day on every front page. So cut the BS BSN, and l2p (learn 2 pug). Otherwise just don't pug if you gonna b1tch about it.

They don't exactly want to hear any advice, either, even if given in a nice and helpful manner. Case in point was some poor N7 29 that dropped into an U/U/G lobby yesterday. I don't mind carrying the new guys and answering any of their questions (and some have proven to be good teammates that try their best, that's all I can ask). We finish a match and before the next one, the N7 29 puts a Shotgun Rail Amp on. He has an Avenger and a Mantis equipped.
I say, "Hey, just as a heads up, that shotgun rail amp's not really gonna help you unless you use a shotgun."
Nothing happens.
"Just... trying to help you save equipment for the right time, you know?"
N7 29 readies up.
I left. That was just too much headache and my patience to try and help only lasts for so long.
The only positive was that at least he was willing to use equipment. That's... a start, I guess?
I lol'd!
Dragon you're too nice!I wouldn't have even bothered to mic up and tell em he/she's doing it wrong because the majority of the time they don't listen/want to know.
Nope. I've msgd people using an Acolyte /GPS with drill ammo that it doesnt work on those weapons and they promptly change with a reply as well.

Unless you're an infilitrator, "saving" liabilities only wastes your medigel as you get shot to pieces having to leave cover in uncontrolled circumstances. Unless you play this game to be a babysitter, then go ahead. Enjoy the part of the game where you revive 1, another falls down, you run to revive that guy and the original guy falls down again. Yeah, extremely fun that.
Smilarly using your own reasoning reversed, "TEAM" effort does not mean "NO" effort for the other team members. If you cannot handle the difficulty, play a difficulty you can handle. This applies to everything, just like you do not expect to be the only one who knows quantum mechanics in a "team" doing a quark study with 3 others skilled only in economics, you do not expect others to not do their part in a "TEAM".

When I'm playing with friends and I do something stupid like rush a spawn and get filled with holes, I tell them I'll gel and if I'm out of gel..well, don't expend effort and/or put yourself in danger to save me.
This is the second thread I've seen about bad PUGs today alone and the two have started to blur a little so apologies if this hasn't made it into the right 'PUGs are bad and should feel bad' topic.

I mostly get very lucky with pugs. As in not pugs that make the game much easier & with OP setup and weapons (quite the opposite it seems. My fave!). But they all work together, provide me a nice excellent challenge, and things somehow get done? Despite starter weapons & me with un-comon weapons +lvl.1 consumables or none?!
Pugs don't want to hear what you have to say or it don't work. So I don't bother and make it myslef that adapts to every situation. WAY MORE FUN! TRY IT! (though if they like near the LZ on Hydra, with like Scions/Ravager shots heard from every direction and I need to make a save there. I'll say on the mic, if it's possible to be heard, "Look, near the LZ is the one spot I'll probably won't be able to make revives. So i you want revives from me. Please don't go there. That is all." And that about it & related. If the hear/listen or not, matters not, I just put it out there.
Moral; don't cry about it and/or make order to pugs. Adapt & just amke it work somehow without you having to carry more then two waves, cause that means teamwork is missing & now gone. Thus try harder to keep everyone alive.

Look, that's not how it mmostly happes with me with most pugs. I can't be that lucky. Figure it out and make it work.
"But wasting medigels.
If a team member constantly bleeds out after you reviving him, try and try again. Maybe baysit a bit even? If you put in the effort, they may put it back. Try, try, try again. ... unless the 100% leechers running around shooting the air. Then exit game, try again.
Moral; make it work somehow & never give up. Even at reviving. And babystitting is way more fun then having your friends doing it to you & putting zero effort into games.

I'm just curious why members of BSN see it as my job and my job only to maintain team morale. My morale drops because PUGs are playing a difficulty that they shouldn't be and they keep dying leaving me to clutch a wave, how is that fair?
Because your the pro BSNers with mighty enough epeen to make it work with bad pugs who are just starting out. And I said it a hundred times already, don't clutch more then two waves or so, cause you should be out of gel/ops/rockets due to putting in the extra effort to keep pugs alive. But if this ends in a mission failure, it matter not cause playing as a team with pugs is where the fun is at. All else is a bonus.
Look, there are other people on BSN that play exclusively pugs like me too and they make it happen + consider it way more fun then with friends? So I can't be wrong on this then.

The tone of your post is a little harsh. Not sure if you meant it that way?
It wasn't an order. I was just trying to help the guy not needlessly waste his shotgun rail amp. Yes, often the bad PUGs I am in are bad BECAUSE of the lack of teamwork... from the other players. I have literally run through all my medigels, ops packs, and rockets in revive-chains before. I try my best to keep my teammates up and alive... but when they are dying over and over and over, that sometimes gets hard to do.
I don't really appreciate the implication that I am doing something wrong and that I'm not trying hard enough to keep everyone alive.

I apologize to every PUG that I ever played in where I didn't rush to revive you, and didn't use every single consumable I have just to do so, even if it was your own fault you died repeatedly.

...so basically, you're saying you soloed Glacier Reapers in 38 minutes with the Piranha GI. Congrats, I guess.
Hey thanks for the comments everyone, sadly i'm pretty busy at work so I won't be able to address them all ...
But I feel the need to say .. this match was tougher than a solo. I'm pretty sure if I was soloing this, I would have been able to control where the enemies were on the map, and been able to beat 38 mins with this set up.
And yes, before people look at my profile and see I do not have Lone Wolf, I will point out that has been the decision of the ME servers to not let me have ... I don't typically enjoy soloing, so I don't bother. The two gold solos I did, one disconnected on wave 9 (still had all my consumables minus 1 med gel and 1 ops pack) and the second was after I had completed the wave 10 objective (and again, had min of 3 of every consumable remaining)
And yes, I probably should have quit this PUG so as to not reward the leechers, but I wanted to finish the match (I always try to finish, no matter how bad the odds)
Other than that, I almost never whine about bad PUGs .. this one was so ridiculously, badly awesome I just had to share LOL
Edit: LOL "Me lone wolf Rambo. You stay in backpack. Me carry all. Me epeen is montradonous. Plenty of room." Good stuff, about the gear though, I did drop into the match in round 2 .. so no preview of their kits ...

If they all die just leave one aggro and just run around until they leave the game. Better yet put your speaker on and sing for their entertainment, lol.

I'm sorry for sounding very rude, not my true intention, and thanks for not fliping out. That's very cool of you.
And yeah, of course there are times when no matter what you do, things justy don't work out with that pug team. Just don't let a few bad examples ruin it all.
Well the implication is that BSN in general is doing something very wrong because every day & on the front page there are way to many complaints about pugging.

Excuse me, do you post on this forum? All these people complain about is how everything needs to be nerfed. I rarely see someone begging for something to be buffed and the only time they do want it to be buffed is if it, in reality, is really goddamn horrible.
Then we shouldn't be having problem playing pugs here. We are all trained professionals, able to adapt to any situation with a Shuriken, no consumables or gels. Problem solved.

I'm not anti-PUG. I love 'em no matter how bad they are. But I am allowed to complain about them being bad.
Everybody was a pug once and bad too. Even you. Too many forget this.
And pug or not. Nobody is perfect. So don't expect everything to go your way, but instead adapt, enjoy, and make the most of it.
But I think I'm directing this to those that hate pugs and say never play them again, blah, blah, blah. And, I'm just now remebering that more experienced payers around pugs with lesser dps should adjust their weapons to match the pugs' weapons. Make's for a more enjoybale game for everybody with evenly matched teams. Score whoring or not. ie. a pro and pug keep hitting the same enemies; if the pro has the way better weapon, who do you think will most likely get the kill most of the time? Not fair now is it? Nor fun for the pug. Please be more considerate for pugs and place youself in their shoes. You were one too. So don't scare them away, please (I almost didn't make it, come to think of it? I mean, I just seen Saber racers starting a new manifest's first vid and there was a jerk with a GI & level 5 Javalin on lolBronze. Don't be like this jerk).
Right now the only way I see Gold Pug playable is with un-common, or close to, weapons + lvl.1 consumanbles or none (haven't choose none yet >_>). Since hey, you can still make tech burts and such with ammo powers this way.

That said, because I am not good enough on gold to reliably clutch later waves, my wipe rate for games I drop into lately is near 100%. I had time for 4 games this afternoon, I extracted once. Every time I stuck around to check out the lobby, everyone was N7 100 or less, standard uncommon weapons. It just happens. I dust off and spin the Wheel Of Pugs again.

Yeah, I don't think veterans should take crazy-powerful kits/guns and go annihilate Bronze and Silver PUGs. I just wish people would maybe take a little more time to increase their skills (or, if nothing else, their survivability) on the lower difficulty levels before stepping up into Gold.
