I just installed Windows 8, and got my Bioware games (ME Trilogy, DAO) ported over and tested. For the most part they seem ok.

I am still getting used to the Metro interface, but I like it so far. Anyone know if there is a BSN App for Metro/Windows8 as yet? I see there is an RSS feed on the forum, so I figured there is probably one already. Maybe even just a generic RSS customizable app?

I'd rather they made an app for mobiles and tablets before one for Windows 8.

Wait...

You brought Windows 8 to upgrade? Or you brought a new computer with Windows 8 which you were forced to install? If it's the former may I ask what possessed you? Neverwinter Nights (both of them) have problems on Windows 8 so I'm guessing some older games won't run perfectly on it. In fact they installed fine and worked upon their successful installation but as soon as I turned the computer off and came back later they refused to run.

I didn't believe the reviews but it seems what people were saying about Windows 8 and gaming are right (at least as far as older titles are concerned). Windows 8 came with my new computer. I wouldn't have brought it otherwise. Not only had I read the horror stories of it beforehand but I also had the unpleasant experience of testing it out back in December last year.

In any case I'm on Ubuntu for this computer but Windows 7 is by far one of the best (if not the best) OS released. After Windows 8 I'm not really suprised in the direction M$ has gone with Xbox. No start menu, system recovery not in an obvious place, annoying right swipe thingie coming up when you don't want it too, ah God, Windows 8 is a mess.

@Elton John is dead

I used the Metro interface for a little while at a store and liked the interface.

So, I decided to buy an upgrade for my entertainment center PC (it is a 6 years old Vista box) - the interface is much more conducive to big screen living room TVs. Didn't install Neverwinter Nights 1, but NWN2 works ok. Since you mentioned it, I went and did a test, and it looks like I have to start it twice sometimes to get it running. I don't have a lot of especially older games which I play anymore so I'm not too worried about that to be honest.

I like the apps - spent a few hours yesterday and today reading the news feed apps and listening to tunes on the XBox Music app (IMHO not an improvement over Windows Media Player).

Anyway, looks like the RSS feeds on these forums don't work anyway, only the one for all forums.
