Was the Krysae in debut form truly overpowered?

Infiltrators ruined it. It wasn't an I win button on any other class.

LOL. I suppose inifinite cobra missile isn't a guaranteed I win in the hands of some people.

Please tell me you didn't come across a MG that had a total FAIL.   How would that even be possible? (provided they got into the state, of course).

If that happened, that person should go home and kick their Xbox.

Well Destroyers are slow and need to be able to see what they're missiling.

Instead we got Cain mines, grenade gear, Acolyte....etc. to make up for it.

I think at no time in this game anything was ever as OP as the old Krysae

It was only OP on infiltrators- nobody else had such overpoweredness with it.

TC was the problem, not the krysae.

I don't know how the Krysae made it into the game...It was an abomination of a gun.

I only started playing post reckoning. *shrugs*

I prefer single shot snipers anyway, far more elegant. (In general)

In general I am not a proponent of nerfs in a PvE environment, with some exceptions. One of those exceptions was the Krysae. That thing was SOOOOO good. At the time of release I hadn't quite moved up to Gold yet, but one time I was drunk and decided to do so, with the Krysae equipped. Holy cow Gold was suddenly easy.

Sadly, the nerfbat should have only hit the Krysae ONCE. Bioware went too far.

True.  You could have slapped it on a Human Adept at the time.  It would still wreck stuff.

And if there were a group of said Adepts with Krysaes....game over man, game over.

Agreed. TC made it stronger, true, but it was good enough (and light enough) that any class could use it.

Thus the over-nerf.

I remember being a FBW/G/G farmer and putting it on my Salarian Engineer and it was OP on him too... specced for power damage.

It entered the game the same time as the Reegar and Harrier did.

For all the horrors wrought by the Krysae, it wasn't killing Atlases in seconds like the Reegar...

^No, but 4 Krysaes in a team could kill spawns almost instantly.

They really nerfed it too hard. When BW reworked the weapon, I didn't think that they'd cripple it to the point of useless. I thought it'd be changed to something like the Falcon.

A fkin abomination that should have never been added to the game.

Phantoms crapped themselves at the sight of the weapon.

Elites were about the only thing that took time to kill and even those had no risk really.

I still remember the first time I saw a Krysae GI. Didn't have the weapon at the time, and I distinctly remember not being able to kill anything because every enemy would turn into goo way before I could empty my clip

eta obviously by the time I maxed it, it was already nerfed to oblivion, like the Typhoon :?

It dealt massive AoE damage on top of locking down every non heavy unit by stagger locking them.

It was basically the pre-nerf Falcon on steroids that benefited from TC's then 40% multiplicative Sniper Rifle damage.

The only thing more OP in the game was QFI vs Geth at launch.

Haha yeah dude the old Krysae was ridiculous.  You'd just lay waste to everything - all the dudes exploding after getting pegged.

Cain mines are comparable. You could still wipe out spawns faster with the unnerfed Krysae on a GI faster than you could with grenade spam (barely) but with less trips to the ammo box.

Even infinite missiles can't save some people. I have seen two missile glitchers (in the last month) who spent far more time on the ground than they spent playing. One of them was doing it--and still dying EVERY SINGLE WAVE--from the Box of Shame. Amazing.

Best train wreck ever. :-)

I got put into a couple of matches with missile glitchers yesterday and everything blowing to pieces is similar to what the krysae did to everything but bosses a year ago.
