The husk/abomination instakill is my personal favorite. Generally only happens on Plat though, very rare on Gold.

I agree with the camera, also if Im getting the shoulder massage of death from a husk/abomination and I get killed by something else...an Atlas should not be able to drop the metal fist of doom right on my face as soon as I hit the ground. Didnt even have a chance to use a gell prior to getting executed. I will say it looked enoyable to watch because the Atlas landed a perfect shot right to the face so much so that I wasnt even upset out it.

I'm slightly ambivalent about them. Both sync kills and executions are an interesting idea but not brilliantly implemented - the occasional random instant sync kill you could do nothing about and being stomped before you hit the ground or by an unseen enemy are examples of that.

It would be better if these mechanics could somehow encourage teamwork because right now they certainly don't, they just force you to sit out a wave or medigel immediately.

I'd be okay with being executed as long as it happened just before the bar ran out rather than directly after I die. I've used a lot of gels that I could've saved for later simply because a Dragoon felt that I was a priority.

I don't mind the executions, they add an extra element to the game aside from, "Guys can you get to me in what the next 20 seconds? No?" But what I don't care for is the bad camera angles where I can't actually tell if they are about to stomp me.

I'm pretty much fine with it. If a wounded but armed soldier went down surrounded by enemies... what would they do? What would you do? You'd execute their ass...

It makes sense.

Definitely a nice addition, except when you get almost insta-stomped before you realize what happened.

Indeed. Helping fallen teammates is one, if not the only, form of teamwork this co op game has (beside the fact that more players kill stuff faster than a few obviously). The only thing both syncs and executions accomplish is to troll teamwork - not the brightest idea for a co op game if you ask me.

Personally, I don't give a sh-t anyway. I've got enough consumables to get me through games and usually rage-gel instinctively. Yet I think the game would have been "better" (when viewed from a teamwork / co op perspective) without syncs and executions, but with no, or only one or two, medigels / player / game.

I agree, the game probably would be improved with no sync kills or executions but with fewer medigels too (would likely make solos tougher overall but, hey, this is a multiplayer game).

However, I think it would have been even better if the sync kills/executions granted a significant and deliberate oppertunity to be rescued by your teammates. Sort of like how Banshee sync kills operate now - saving a teammate from that is a great feeling.

I think stomping is a good idea . I also like that one faction - collectors - seem to stomp with no mercy.

What i do NOT like is that quite often the bleed screen is so dark that you have no idea that an enemy unit is standing over you about to stomp

Sometimes PUGs only gel because they don't want to get stomped.

That's the only reason I somewhat like it.

really?
most pugs i've seen welcome the stomp, and relish the carrying activities that follow.
i'd like to play your version of the game DiDatau Image IPB

I'm talking about those PUGs that do want to help, but without putting in too much effort, you know?

The ones that know they're only there as a decoy.

Edit: They might also just be newbs.
Either way, I welcome them.

I have heard of you and your skills, Silent. If you need a decent Pug, hit me up.

It is most satisfying when you end up duoing a Pug wave 10 devices and the random refuses to drop the device. Only way to complete the objective is to blow him up with an abomination and hope there is a Captian near by to finish the job. So nice when you can kite enemies without another player impedeing progress.

I like the feature, but they need to give you control of the camera because it is very hard to judge some executions from the angle they give you (I'm lookin at you Atlas).

It's cool, but I think something from Guild Wars 2 would be really cool here. For anyone wondering, if you get downed in Guild Wars 2, you're put in a downed state with a couple different powers and with a limited health bar that drains. You can rally by killing an enemy, or if they don't hit you for an extended period of time, you can use one of the four skills to pick yourself back up. Your friends could also come and heal you back to full, then you're back up again.

Thought that was a nice way to play the downed state. =]

That Gears of War knockoff? Nah. The instant stomps and stomping while in the process of reviving need to GTFO.

My favourite is when Dragoons insta-stomp you even when your body didn't even hit the ground yet.

YEEEESSS!!!

I love getting stomped as my limp body is still falling. Collectors are infamous for this, for me. No matter how close my teammates are, it doesn't matter. I'm getting stomped, or I'm using a gel.

Edit: Actually, I wouldn't mind it so much if there were a way to continue fighting from a downed state, like Borderlands 2's Fight for Your Life mode. I mean, if they're going to curb stomp me, and I'm still conscious enough to be able to reach for Medi-gel, shouldn't I be able to whip out a pistol/ability on that lowly Cerberus Assault Trooper that's standing over me?

It's pretty fkn stupid. Especially with the Colls, it seems that the game is teleporting/spawnig enemies next to a downed teammate.

If you go down far away from others, and the enemy has no other wories at the moment you will get stomped. One might say serves you right for being Rambo and leaving your team alone.
On the other hand, the urge to stomp you might even help your team becouse the stomper will sometimes have a hard time deciding wether to stomp or go after someone else resulting in "should I stomp or should I go" dance over your body buying you some time to deal with them.
Very useful with goons

My only two wishes is that the execution sequences were more elaborate and that the camera angle above your downed body were consistent. There have been too many occasions where players have been executed in spite of medigel availability because the camera decided to veer off to some strange corner, obstructing one's view.

I don't like the stomp. It kind of take the co-op out of co-op. I mean, part of the fun in playing co-op is being able to revive your squad/have them revive you. So, you hoof it like a bat out of hell across the entire map to revive someone and don't have the damage output to take down a Pyro's shields and armor or stagger them long enough to get the revive = dead squaddie. Or:

They go down and you've just noticed the little cross on your screen, one second later, insta-stomp.

Yeah. Not a fan.

This.

It is really annoying to have gels and no qualms about using them, yet get curbed stomped by the invisi-foot as you patiently wait for a teammate to revive you...

If you could see more of your surroundings while on the deck it'd be fairer. Not just whether you're about to be stomped, but whether a squaddie was just about to rez you the moment you hit the medigel. Generally though if I go down, unless the area is swarmed, I just gel. It makes things easier all around.
